The shaking

Do any of the following symptoms sound familiar? There is a sense of disorientation; the ground on which you stand seems too unstable to allow you to remain standing; everything appears topsy-turvy: do you sense the entire world is losing its collective mind?

Despite what lockstep-marching, mainstream media sources spew from their perches of pontification, we are not imagining the above sensations. Our surroundings are beginning to resemble the Twilight Zone. This is what the Bible calls a shaking, and yes, even judgment. More in a bit…

For those of us who grew up in the 50s, 60s, or 70s, it is abundantly clear that things have gone amok. America is not the same country. Remember Obama’s promise to fundamentally transform America? Welcome to the ongoing Transformation!

According to polls, this situation is unsettling for most Americans. Now that all previous and ongoing damage is hitting regular people on the personal level, in a multitude of ways, we are suddenly waking up in fear of the future—our own shaking. Worse, the rest of the world is also experiencing the shaking.

There are so many issues simultaneously affecting people like sickness, job loss, inflation and resulting increasing costs for basic living expenses, shortages, and more. Then there are the social/moral issues leading to our societal collapse that are too vast to discuss in this article.

Just a year ago, I was among the multitudes of Americans who caught the Wuhan virus. My plight caused a quick-onset pneumonia that put me in the hospital, where I spent ten of twelve days in intensive care battling for my life. It took months to recover, but now there are heat-related issues I have never experienced in our new home in southern Florida. But like the scores of Americans who no longer trust the healthcare system, who can we trust for advice?

So, I too experienced a time of unsettling disorientation both physically and mentally. However, because of my faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, I am grateful to be alive and able to continue to share biblical truth and hope to anyone willing to hear.

Just days ago, while watching an “alternative” news source, getting part of my daily intelligence briefing, a word came to me that “everything that can be shaken is being shaken.” This message reminded me of another prophetic word given to me on 9/11/2001, in the form of a song:

The shaking has started, the shaking has started,
Oh, saints can you hear the distant rumble and roar?
The shaking has started, the shaking has started,
God promised all heaven and earth would tremble and
    shake once more.

Everything that can be shaken, will be shaken –
    Only eternal things remain.
    Store up treasures in Heaven,
Serve God in awe and fear,
Eternity with Him is your gain.

The shaking has started, the shaking has started,
Oh, saints can you hear the distant rumble and roar?
The shaking has started, the shaking has started,
God’s an all-consuming fire who soon won’t allow
    or tolerate our sins anymore.

This song is based on the following scriptures in Hebrews where Moses was receiving the law on Mount Sinai, with the ancient Israelites at the bottom of the mountain. It was a holy place, the sounds of God’s voice so overwhelmingly powerful that the people begged that no further word be spoken to them. (Heb. 12: 19) In fact, so awful and terrifying was the [phenomenal] sight that Moses said, I am terrified (aghast and trembling with fear). [Deut. 9:19] (Heb. 12:21)

Then came the warnings…

So see to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him Who is speaking [to you now]. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them [here] on earth [revealing with heavenly warnings His will], how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on Him Who cautions and admonishes [us] from heaven?

Then [at Mount Sinai] His voice shook the earth, but now He has given a promise: Yet once more I will shake and make tremble not only the earth but also the [starry] heavens. [Hag. 2:6.]

Now this expression, Yet once more, indicates the final removal and transformation of all [that can be] shaken–that is, of that which has been created–in order that what cannot be shaken may remain and continue. [Ps. 102:26.]

Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe; For our God [is indeed] a consuming fire. [Deut. 4:24.] (Heb. 12:25-29 AMPC)

In conclusion, my reason for going back 21 years to 9/11 is to explain that after decades of warnings from Bible teachers/pastors of the need to honor our God and heed His commandments, we—like the ancient Israelites—thought we knew better than God how to do things. We ignored all warnings and continued our self-serving slide—not into blessings and prosperity, but into depravity.

Could it be that 9/11 was a huge warning to our nation and its so-called leaders? A turning point? Read the above lyrics again. We believed our power-hungry leaders, who were concurrently stripping citizens of constitutionally protected God-given liberties. (Research the massive Patriot Act, which Congress wrote and passed in record time. The contents are shocking.)

Finally, there is the above message I received just days ago—Everything that can be shaken is being shaken. What do calamity, crisis, diseases, death, wars, economic collapse, massive corruption, and more, happening at the same time, tell you?

Consider these words: “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” In humility, by repenting, anchoring ourselves to the Lord, and obeying His Word, we can survive the shaking. What say you? To anyone willing to hear….
