Woe to America! Part 2
By Madeline Crabb
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." (Gal. 6: 7 NIV)
Americans have been sowing tainted seed since the mid-twentieth century. Now we are harvesting rotten crops, and we act surprised. Instead of examining the "seed" we've been planting, we simply plant more of it and expect improved "crops." Again and again and again. It's all futility.
When last I spoke with you, it was in the initial aftermath of the disastrous Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges regarding same-sex "marriage." What's been happening since then? Most Americans continue living their self-centered lives without any regard to the "bigger picture." That bigger picture is that our constitutional rights are being ripped away from us as an out-of-control court system legislates from the bench.
The Obergefell decision is now being called "the law of the land." It is not. No law has been passed by the U.S. Congress (House and Senate) and signed into law by the U.S. President. Neither is homosexuality mentioned in the U.S. Constitution, or in the Bill of Rights, and thus cannot be rightfully "interpreted" by the Supreme Court. Further, issues regarding "marriage" are not enumerated within the Constitution, and therefore belong to the individual states, or the "people." (Read the tenth amendment to the Constitution.)
What is in the U.S. Constitution is Americans' right to the free exercise of religion and speech. The first amendment to the Constitution reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or the abridging of the freedom of speech..." (BTW: If Congress can't prohibit our right to practice religion and free speech, neither can the Supreme Court. They can't make laws. Just sayin'.) Since Obergefell, both of these freedoms are now in serious jeopardy.
Of course, this has been the trend for decades. Numerous laws have been enacted to "prohibit" our free speech. Many of these laws are meant to basically protect people's "feelings" from being hurt. We've become a bunch of spineless, wimpy people who can't handle criticism for our own abnormal, sinful behavior, but freely criticize everything and everyone else. Example: Bullying laws. Who among us hasn't been teased or tormented about something in our lives, particularly when we were children? But in the new PC America, laws are required to punish us for teasing one another. However, it's now called bullying and hate speech. Sounds absolutely horrible, doesn't it? Violators must be punished.
Sadly, Christians are those accused most often of "bullying" others just by living and speaking our beliefs. The constitutionally-protected speech and practice of religion by Christians is being punished more harshly than that of non-Christians. The result is that Christians can be "bullied" with impunity. Talk about an upside-down world!
The mere fact that religion and speech were the first "rights" our founders specifically mentioned in the Bill of Rights shows how important they deemed said rights. And as our society slides into the abyss at a dizzying speed, it is crucial these rights be protected. But alas, Christian speech is deemed hate speech. Consequently, we must be silenced and punished. Woe to America!
All along, the goal of the homosexual community has been to have their behavior accepted as mainstream, normal. And who is most apt to disagree with homosexuality? Christians. Who are those already being persecuted and punished for their beliefs about homosexuality? Christians. Consider the Oregon bakers who have now been told they must pay $135,000 to a lesbian couple for not baking a cake for their "marriage."
Aaron and Melissa Klein did business with a lesbian couple, but when this couple asked the Kleins to bake a cake for their upcoming wedding, the Kleins explained because of their religious belief that marriage is between one and one woman, they could not provide a cake for their ceremony. (Muslim bakers wouldn't have baked them a cake either, but I digress.)
And just how did these lesbians suffer because of the Klein's decision? According to the Daily Signal:
Instead of just going to another bakery that would likely have baked them a cake, no questions asked, these women decided to make the Kleins suffer. Could it be the women specifically sought-out this Christian bakery? Hmmm... Again, in the new America, Christians do not have the right to freely practice their faith or free speech, or to stand on convictions – moral or religious. Consequently, the Kleins were forced to close their bakery, have endured national ridicule and scorn, received death threats, been prosecuted by the Oregon government, accrued massive legal fees, and been charged with a judgment of $135,000. (Twice to three times the amount most Americans earn annually in their jobs. Wow!)
On July 8, Oregon threatened to put a lien against the Klein's home if they didn't pay the fine by the end of the week, followed with the threat of an additional $25,000 in penalties and interest for not quickly paying the fine. Thus far, the Kleins refuse to pay because they are appealing the case.
The Daily Signal has also reported that in addition to monetary punishment, the Kleins have essentially been placed under a gag order that tells them to "cease and desist" from speaking publicly about the case in regard to their Christian beliefs. If the hammer of government can't beat them into submission, then indignant society, both Christian and non-Christian, will. It's all about being politically-correct – and if we're not, we must be punished.
Do you think this is an isolated incident? It's not. In America, everything is totally upside-down. We now not only call evil good, and good evil, but the government is the driving force! For Christians, we simply cannot acquiesce to the ways of the world – legislated or not. What will the consequences be for our noncompliance? It will be even worse than what happened to the Klein family and others who exercised their constitutionally-guaranteed right to practice their religious beliefs without government "prohibition." Christians simply must be silenced. Some will be imprisoned, and some permanently silenced, as in other parts of the world.
And just because some people don't believe Jesus Christ is Lord, don't think they are exempt from the wrath of an evil government. Once the Church is effectively muzzled, Big Brother will pursue the rest of the populace. Consider the following 1945 quote from Protestant Pastor Martin Niemöller, displayed at the National World War II Museum:
Again, our opening scripture reads: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." (Gal. 6: 7 NIV) The following verse says, "The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Gal. 6: 7 NIV)
In the past 60-70 years or so, Americans have been increasingly sowing to the flesh instead of the Spirit. And just as God proclaims in His Word, we are indeed reaping destruction – personally and as a nation. The harvest is horrific – massive personal/societal moral decadence, and the resulting decay and destruction. Sadly, an overwhelming part of our society simply calls this the "new normal." Choices...
Dear friends, what seed are you sowing? We each are personally responsible for our own crops. Immutable principle: Bad seed, bad crops; good seed, good crops. What crop do you wish to reap for yourself, for your children and grandchildren, and for our nation? The results not only affect us while here on earth, but determine our eternal destiny. Please choose carefully. To anyone willing to hear....

-
Complaints and symptoms included "acute loss of confidence," "doubt," "excessive sleep," "felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful," "high blood pressure," "impaired digestion," "loss of appetite," "migraine headaches," "pale and sick at home after work," "resumption of smoking habit," "shock," "stunned," "surprise," "uncertainty," "weight gain" and "worry."

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
