Reaping what we've sown: rotten, diseased government

The Bible proclaims, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Gal. 6:7 KJV)

The Law of the Harvest dictates that we reap in abundance of what we have sown. Accordingly, this means we may plant one tomato seed, but will reap scores of tomatoes. Further, when we plant a tomato seed, we don't harvest corn.

In America, we have been "planting" bad seeds for many decades – at least as far back as the 1960's. Then we have expected a good, wholesome harvest. Simultaneously, we have mocked God. So what "fruit" have we harvested?

God has been nearly banned from all public places, and Christians have been relegated to second-class (or worse) status. And this is happening even while the majority of Americans still confess being Christians. The U.S. Constitution, the rule of law, has been shredded. Justice, which is supposedly blind, we now discover is actually dead. Anarchy reigns across the land in unprecedented levels not seen since the 1960's. We are no longer united states, but balkanized and hyphenated groups of people loyal to only their group. Socialists, communists, and Islamists now fill many roles in the highest levels of our government. Then finally, a large swath of Americans now enthusiastically support open communist and socialist figures running for the office of the president.

While multitudes of Americans are wringing their hands over the "state of our nation," those who understand history and yes, even the Bible, are not surprised. It's the law of cause and effect, the principle of sowing and reaping. America, like great nations from the past, is being destroyed from within.

In his Lyceum Address of 1838, Abraham Lincoln spoke of America's possible future demise by saying, "If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." Like the Founding Fathers before him who understood history and the fate of nations, Lincoln also understood these things. Through wisdom and deductive reason, he displayed prescience about America's future.

So as we watch America's death spiral, what must must be done to reverse this course...To produce a better harvest?

Dear friends, we must return to the commonsensical, carefully reasoned, and biblically influenced principles through which America was first established. Among those principles is a firm foundation on biblical truth, along with respect for, and trust in God. We must remember why we became a nation...why our founders mutually pledged to each other their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish this nation. (Declaration of Independence.) We must stop being a bunch of sheeple who believe whatever we are told, and instead get off our backsides and begin to seek truth, and demand integrity from our government representatives.

In this process, the first major decision that must be made is whether we are going to continue to embrace socialism and communism, both which lead to becoming nothing more than slaves to the State. Or are we going to return to our roots of free enterprise, freedom, independence. This means embracing capitalism. Despite what communists like Bernie Sanders espouse, capitalism is good. It means We the People are in control of our fate because the resources/means of production belong to private owners. (Not government.) Free enterprise is what built this great land!

To accomplish these things, we first need American-loving, constitutional-abiding leaders who understand the concept of serving. Such people have been sorely lacking for nearly eight years, at least in the Executive Branch of our government. But they are becoming the exception rather than the rule in all branches of government.

If there is a positive future for America, we must select leaders who will put America and Americans first. We need people who understand the premise of our very existence, and who don't continually apologize to the rest of the world for our success and bounty. We've had nearly eight years of our president traveling around the world on various "apology tours," constantly showing embarrassment for the country he represents. I have a suggestion for him and all others who are so ashamed of America: Why don't you leave?!

As several prominent Christian pastors have suggested, there are no political solutions to spiritual problems. Most assuredly, many of America's problems are indeed spiritual. However, there are serious, immediate problems that must be addressed like the fact America is out of money. Actually, we are bankrupt. We are approaching $20 trillion of debt, a point for which there is no recovery, say many economists. The current disaster of a president has spent more money during his reign than ALL other presidents combined. How is this even possible? Moreover, why did the U.S. Congress, that controls the nation's "purse," allow this to happen?

Another major problem requiring immediate attention is our national security, and yes, terrorism. America is less safe today than it was eight years ago. Furthermore, our borders have been unsecured for far too long, another problem that has worsened in the last eight years. Of course, the attitude of the former secretary of state tells us how seriously the current administration handles our safety. Uh, they don't even care about those they send into harm's way in other countries like, say, Benghazi. So, people die... "What difference does it make anyway?" If one of those who died was named Clinton, I wonder if it would have mattered? But I digress...

The point is that our government is supposed to "provide for the common defence." (the Constitution)

Fellow Americans, we have clear choices this election year. We truly are choosing the very fate of our nation. Do we want to be a representative republic, or are we choosing socialism? Yes, in many ways we are already a socialist nation. But with the corrupt duo of Hillary and Bill Clinton at the helm again, we will not only be in full-blown socialism, but will likely be a communist nation at the end of such a reign.

For those of you who don't remember the first Clinton co-presidency, Hillary was the author of a socialist health care plan – Hillarycare. It was a disastrous piece of work, done mostly in secret with her fellow socialist compatriots. Fortunately, it was rejected. Hillary was also instrumental in many areas of policy formulated in the Executive office. In Edward Klein's book, the Truth About Hillary, he details the life of Hillary Clinton, and explains her overall role with Bill. Hillary actually vetted nominees for cabinet level positions. Two Supreme Court justices were appointed during the Clinton presidency. While Hillary perhaps didn't make the final decision, she played a huge role in the matter. A Hillary/Bill third and fourth term would almost guarantee more Supreme Court justices like Ruth Bader Ginsberg, which would truly be disastrous for any remaining vestiges of the U.S. Constitution as the Rule of Law.

There is an old saying that the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again while expecting different results. This is exactly what Americans have been doing with those we choose to serve us in government. Sadly, we repeatedly choose the same types of people, those who promise whatever we demand of them, just so they can gain office. Then once in office, they forget all about us. But then, our motives often aren't pure either.

Isn't it time we make the change of selecting someone who is NOT part of the good old boys' club that takes turns scratching one another's backs, never once putting America and Americans first. They gain fame and fortune, and often, almost guaranteed jobs with massive benefits, all by promising us the moon. Americans are losing their jobs and hard-earned fortunes. Those who can still get jobs must settle for lower-paying positions, often without any of the usual benefits. Or other people must work two or three jobs to compensate for the loss of one job.

Donald J. Trump is the one person running for the presidency that has actually "built something" and employed people. He has been hugely successful in his profession, but he worked for it, unlike career politicians like Hillary who have gotten rich on the backs of Americans. He loves America, and isn't afraid to share this fact. He actually understands that the government is the problem, not the solution. He wants ALL Americans empowered to thrive, not just survive. Therefore, he wants to create the environment in which this happens. That's one of the main reasons the U.S. Constitution was written: "...promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity..."

A speaker today at the Republican National Convention explained that decades ago, we individual Americans took personal responsibility for our general welfare, and securing our own blessings of liberty. The role of government is responsible for doing only those things the citizens can't do. Another speaker said that We the People need to BE the People. We need to once again take responsibility for our destiny, both individually and collectively.

Are we ready to start the chore of taking America back from the tyrants we have allowed to enslave us? Do we finally understand that without sound moral principles, and yes, I do mean those based on the Bible, are necessary for our nation's survival? If everyone does whatever seems right in his own eyes, there is confusion and anarchy.

Jesus told us in Scripture, "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit." (Luke: 6:23 NIV) Is this not another part of the Law of the Harvest? Again, we have planted "bad seed" and expect "good fruit." Instead, it is all pretty rotten fruit that is literally making our nation sick to the point of death.

How about planting some different types of seed, and healthier plants? What a difference this will make in the harvest! To anyone willing to hear....
