Hegel's dialectic in the Age of Obama, Part 2

"Hegel's philosophy was a pseudo-philosophy paralyzing all mental powers, stifling all real thinking."

~ Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

During this Independence Day time frame, we reflect with exceeding gratitude on the tremendous sacrifices our Founding Fathers made fighting the Revolutionary War of Independence (1775-83), putting in jeopardy their collective lives, liberty and sacred honor to fight against England and against the tyrannical rule of King George III.

Ironically, during this same period culminating the Age of Enlightenment, a German philosopher named Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) wrote a radical, paradigm-changing book, "Critique of Pure Reason" (1781), arguing that human perception (not God) ordered natural laws and that human reason is the source of morality. Kant's transcendental idealism intended to bring reason together with experience and to move beyond what he thought were failures of traditional philosophy and metaphysics. These secular, anti-Christian, anti-clerical ideals helped launch an almost concurrent revolution in Europe with a very different, ghastly outcome – "The Great Terror," the French Revolution (1789-99).

After Kant, another German philosopher, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831), theorized that all social evolution is comprised of three stages: a thesis (problem) leading to an antithesis (reaction) that contradicts the thesis, creating a tension between the thesis and antithesis that is resolved by means of a synthesis (solution). Thus, synthesis evolves from contradictions, while concurrently becoming the next component of conflict. This continuing, existential movement (progress) is defined as the Hegelian dialectic.

Here are five examples of Hegelian dialectic and how this philosophy has perverted and systematically deconstructed society in modern times:
Hegelian Dialectic No. 1 {Natural Law vs. Legal Positivism, Evolution Atheism} Thesis: The framers wrote the U.S. Constitution in the late 18th century based on moral absolutes, natural law and self-evident truths: If A is true, then non-A cannot be true. Antithesis: "A new untruth [evolution atheism] is better than an old truth [natural law]." (Justice O.W. Holmes) Synthesis: Natural law, morality and original intent are dead and only a "living [evolving] constitution" can rule over a progressive, socialist society in modern times.
For over 200 years leftists, Marxists, socialists, Darwinists, liberals and progressives have used a Hegelian dialectic to undermine and deconstruct God, truth and realism, and upon its ashes erect a vile pagan idol to Übermenchen – Superman, or Man as god, as Nietzsche and later the Nazis would characterize this "New Man." President Woodrow Wilson, a fervent admirer of Hegel and a champion of Progressivism, in his 1908 book, "Constitutional Government in the United States," wrote, "Living political constitutions must be Darwinian in structure and in practice. Society is a living organism and must obey the laws of life, not of mechanics; it must develop."

Hegelian Dialectic No. 2 {Sacredness of Life vs. Cult of Death} Thesis: According to the Bible, God created the world, including mankind who was created in the image of God. Antithesis: God is dead (Nietzsche [1886]). Synthesis: The State is god based on Darwin's evolution atheism, survival of the fittest and natural selection. The weak must give way to the strong whose Will to Power ascends them upward on the evolutionary ladder as leaders of a future utopia.

If during the Civil War Lincoln and the Union Army sacrificed over 750,000 lives in part to eradicate the "evil institution" of chattel slavery; if during World War II the world united rose up against Hitler, the Nazis and their evil Holocaust against 6 million Jews; if American society for 40 years since Roe v. Wade (1973) zealously promoted an invidious Hitlerian jurisprudence allowing the genocide of almost 60 million of its most innocent and vulnerable citizens – then who among us are righteous, safe ... or innocent?
Hegelian Dialectic No. 3 {Work vs. Welfare} Thesis: If a man doesn't work, a man doesn't eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10). America's Founding Fathers intended the church (not the state or federal government), through tithes and almsgiving, to take care of the needs of the orphan, the physically sick, the mentally insane, the handicapped and the elderly. Antithesis: The Progressive Trinity: FDR, LBJ, BHO – since God is dead, WE will make a New Deal, a Great Society and give cradle-to-grave health care to all (Obamacare). Synthesis: The republic is dead. "The American republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." (Alexis de Tocqueville)
President Theodore Roosevelt (1901-09) and his zealous, self-righteous, trust-busting strategy replaced the monopolies of the so-called "Robber Barons" held over industry with leviathan, socialist government. In the early 1900s, Americans exchanged one capitalist master for an even crueler socialist master who enslaves all of us to this day.
Hegelian Dialectic No. 4 {Amnesty} Thesis: America was built on [legal] immigration, by [legal] immigrants: "Give me Your tired, Your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free ..." (Emma Lazarus) Antithesis: Congress must immediately pass the amnesty bill granting 30 million Hispanics (and their relatives) perpetual membership in the Democratic Party. Synthesis: The self-destruction of the Republican Party will be complete, making America officially a one-party socialist dictatorship.
If the Republican Party is ignorant enough to allow the Democratic Socialist Party to pass Obama's amnesty bill, then they have foolishly lit the match to their own self-immolation.
Hegelian Dialectic No. 5 {Education as indoctrination/propaganda} Thesis: God, through the Holy Bible, taught mankind to love and obey Him. Antithesis: "Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted." (Lenin) Synthesis: Teachers are no longer considered "the transmitters of society's culture" (as they have been for roughly the past 6,000 years) but are now "activist agents of [progressive, socialist] change." (John Dewey, 1938)
Austro-British philosopher Karl Popper (1902-1994) argued that Hegel's philosophy provided the intellectual foundations for communists, socialists and fascist totalitarian governments of the 20th century – Ottoman Turks, Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Mao, Islamism. I am convinced that Hegel's dialectic will continue in the 21st century; into the Age of Obama whereby President Obama's election victories in 2008 and 2012 signal the ongoing progression of a Hegelian dialectic that culminates in a post-Marxist worldview – a genocidal, evil, globalist dystopia.
