Recent state & city actions demonstrate the dangers of too much government control

It is alarming when mayors and state governors shut down businesses across their jurisdiction for months at the time. Sadly their actions have seriously hurt small businesses across America. Just think of the millions of people who have lost their jobs and are losing their life savings as well.

This whole COVID-19 period of history has demonstrated the dangers of big government. Why would people still support socialism? It is sad that many in the Democrat Party support a government philosophy that turns over many of our freedoms (that historically we, the people have had) to government. This includes government at the local, state and federal levels.

This also includes taking over many sections of our society including the medical field, and the oversight of basic freedoms we now enjoy (like freedom of religion). Socialism encourages government spending that ‘spreads out wealth’. It disincentives’ many to not work. It places too much control in the hands of the few. The few are those in government, who would under socialism, control our society.

All you have to do is look at countries that are socialist: Venezuela, Nigeria, Yugoslavia, and Sweden. Venezuela has one the largest oil reserves in world. The country use to thrive economically but since it became socialist it is struggling economically and as a society.

Finally, I am hopeful that people from states like Michigan, Minnesota, California and New York will realize the damage their governors have inflicted on their states by their ‘over control’. While these Democrat leaders are trying to help their citizens from this pandemic, their over control will actually hurt millions of people and families for months to come.
