The liberals can understand everything but people who don't understand them. – Lenny Bruce

Former congressman and House Majority Leader Dick Armey always described liberals as good people who see things differently than we conservatives. That is the most positive description I know of when discussing liberals. But, comedian Lenny Bruce was correct. Liberals don't understand why conservatives don't understand them. I have wrestled long and hard for an understandable explanation.

The barrier standing between liberals and conservatives is one they cannot or will not see- the constant, consistent, blatant hypocrisy of the left. Hypocrite used to be a word no one wanted to be called. Today, liberals seem to wear the word proudly because they subscribe to the theory that the ends justify the means. Under that theory, hypocrisy doesn't exist; lies don't exist; stealing elections doesn't exist. All those things are justified in the liberal mind as the means to an end-their end.

In November 2018, the liberal media and Democrats attacked President Trump after the Border Patrol used tear gas to thwart an invasion of our country by an army of thugs who attempted to enter the United States illegally. They didn't steal across the Rio Grande under cover of darkness. They didn't secrete themselves in cargo trucks. They made a head-on assault of the border of a sovereign nation-an invasion.

But, because they are hypocrites, liberals in Congress and the liberal media won't tell you that the policy which allows the use of tear gas at the border is an Obama Administration policy, and that Barack Obama used the same chemical multiple times to thwart illegal aliens at our border.

On the issue of border security, Nancy Pelosi, the once -again Speaker of the House, has said a border wall is immoral. Yet, she does not criticize Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the sixty-four House Democrats and the twenty-six Democrat senators, including then Senator Barack Obama, who, in 2006, voted for the Secure Fence Act which required 700 miles of fencing along the southern border. The construction of barriers under that act would, "...certainly do some good...help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country," is how Senator Obama praised the act in a speech from the floor of the United States Senate. Democrats' hypocrisy on this issue has caused a shutdown of a portion of the government which they unashamedly place blame on President Trump.

Liberals constantly accuse President Trump of lying. The biggest lie of the century, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance," came from the lying lips of Democrat Barack Obama. The architect of Obama's Affordable Care Act, MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, admitted the law was passed through lying to the American people, "... this bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes the bill dies. Okay? Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical to get for the thing to pass." Finally, in 2013, the White House admitted that Obama's promises about "your doctor" and "your insurance" were lies. Just more liberal hypocrisy.

That liberals close their eyes to the perfidy of their politicians was evident long before Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the presidency. When the Access Hollywood tape surfaced, liberals pounded Trump for his offense against women. When several women accused Trump of unacceptable behavior, liberals bashed him as unworthy of holding office, much less the presidency. Yet, liberals have defended Ted Kennedy ever since he killed Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969; they consider Bill Clinton one of the greatest leaders this country has ever had and he is one of the best fund raisers for Democrats in spite of the accusations of more than fifty women, including rape, the payoff to one woman, and his oral sex romp with a White House intern a couple of years older than his daughter and then perjuring himself. And, then there is John Kennedy and his White House adultery with movie stars, White House interns, even evidence of an affair with Jackie's press secretary.

Barack Obama spent eight years in the White House, all the time telling us that his anemic economy was George Bush's fault. After January 20, 2017, when Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as president and the economy suddenly began to soar, Barack Obama began claiming credit for this. In November 2018, he told a Houston audience that he is responsible for the booming energy sector. This behavior may be the penultimate case of hypocrisy, deception, and lies. Or it could be the behavior of self-delusion.

Democrats say that Donald Trump does not have the class, or hasn't risen to the sophistication required to hold the office of president. Yet, Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib spoke to a crowd of supporters this week and said of President Trump, "We're gonna go in there and we're gonna impeach the motherf***er."

You might say, "Well, you have just presented some anecdotal evidence of something, which is no evidence at all." That argument fails because this evidence is historical, over a period of time and of a pattern of consistent behavior involving intellectual dishonesty. Every day, Democrats give fresh evidence of their hypocrisy in almost everything they say and do. And, that, liberal friends-the hypocrisy of the Left – is the stumbling block, the barrier that separates us.

ABC news analyst, co-host of The View and liberal Sunny Hostin gave the best illustration of the left's intellectual dishonesty or hypocrisy since Jefferson Davis' defense of the Democrat war against the United States of America. During a discussion of the tear gas incidents in November on The View, when she was confronted with the fact that Obama had also used tear gas to thwart illegal aliens at the border, she said, "I don't care what Obama did. I care what Trump is doing right here right now."

About Democrat Jefferson Davis: he justified the Democrats' war against the United States by saying, "We seceded to rid ourselves of the rule of the majority."
