Top 3 things Obama did wrong to families in 2009

It's been quite a year for President Barack Obama. He has taken this nation's government so far to the left that Bill Clinton sometimes looks conservative in comparison.

Let's put aside President Obama's obvious penchant for big government programs, politically-correct warfighting, and aversion to a free-market economy. Instead, allow me to describe three things Obama did wrong to American families within the first year of his administration:

1. Within three days after taking his oath of office, President Barack Obama quietly signed an executive order to provide US taxpayers' money to international groups that perform abortions or provide information on the procedure outside of the U.S.

While the news media all but ignored his action, it came as no surprise to conservatives and liberals like. You see, Obama had promised to reverse the ban during his presidential campaign, as did his Democratic opponent Hillary Rodham Clinton.

President George W. Bush refused to allow American taxpayer fund to be used for so-called family planning programs in other countries. Under his father, President George H. W. Bush, federal funds were also banned from going to such groups that even talked about abortion in the case of an unplanned pregnancy.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan first banned the use of federal funds for family planning groups that perform or promote abortions outside the U.S.

Obama signed the executive order without coverage by the elite media and without the usual sycophant fanfare on a late Friday afternoon.

2. Appearing on "The Tonight Show" on March 19 2009, the president told host Jay Leno in front of millions of viewers that he'd been practicing at the White House's bowling alley, but he scored poorly bowling a mere 129. Then came the punchline — he said, "It was like the Special Olympics or something."

On his way back to Washington, Obama called the chairman of the Special Olympics Tim Shriver to say he was sorry, hoping to ward off the justified outrage before the taped program aired.

Sure, Obama wasn't poking fun at the Special Olympics. He was only poking fun at himself for bowling like a physically or mentally disabled athlete. Heck, everybody knows retards and cripples aren't good at bowling, and Obama's bowling skills are similar to those of the physically and/or mentally disabled.

(Perhaps Leno's comeback could have been something like: "Well, Mr. President, I hope that's the only skill you have that's comparable to a retard.")

And so a majority of American voters thought they were getting the second-coming of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Inauguration Day, but what did they get? They got a second-rate Chris Rock with the moral authority of Howard Stern.

3. On October 9, 2009, President Obama delivered rousing pep talk to the folks at the Human Rights Campaign.

In his usual rehearsed, teleprompter-assisted style, Obama told his audience, "My expectation is that when you look back on these years, you will see a time in which we put a stop to discrimination against gays and lesbians — whether in the office or on the battlefield."

"You will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognize relationships between two men or two women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman," he declared to the cheering crowd.

So, the leader of the free world believes Americans should look at homosexual relationships as admirable.

And Obama failed to explain how a soldier would know another soldier's sexual orientation on a battlefield with bullets flying and bombs exploding.

But then, President Obama is rarely asked to explain himself, now is he?
