Rededicating America at 250

It is inescapable and indisputable that the United States of America was founded on Christian principles by men of deep faith. Our Declaration of Independence was the first government document in history to acknowledge all men are created equal and our rights come from God, not a king or a government. Our founding fathers regularly sought divine guidance as they undertook the incredible challenge of birthing a nation based on freedom.

As the Revolutionary War loomed, the Second Continental Congress declared a National Day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer on 17 May 1776. The purpose was to ask for national forgiveness, blessings, and guidance as they contemplated declaring independence. Declaring national days of prayer in our first century was common. Americans prayed regularly.

Many Americans still pray, but if our nation does not return to God, our decline and probably demise is inevitable. The Trump Administration recognizes this fundamental fact, and therefore, organized “Rededicate America” to renew our faith and rededicate America to the Lord. In this program, various officials recorded themselves reciting scripture, and this past weekend they held a revival on the National Mall.

Thousands attended to praise the Lord and pray for America. With uplifting music and various celebrities sharing their testimony, the main theme was that to be blessed, the United States must repent, follow God’s commandments, and seek His guidance. In short, America can only be great when it submits to the Lord.

The nay sayers and unbelievers will scream separation of church and state and insist America can succeed on its own. However, history has shown otherwise. The U.S. became the most powerful and prosperous nation on earth when it was an unabashedly Christian nation. Hard-working, God-fearing Americans built this country.

Note that since the Supreme Court removed prayer from schools in 1962 and popular culture abandoned God, America has been steadily declining morally and socially. There is no real debate. Americans see it every day as blue cities fail and red cities thrive; it’s not political – it’s faith.

Those unconvinced need only look across the Atlantic at Great Britain which was once the leading power of Christendom and their king is still charged as the “Defender of the Faith.” They have forfeited their Christian heritage and acquiesced to Islam and liberal relativism. The people have no guns, so they cannot defend themselves against an oppressive government. Moreover, Britons have lost any right to freedom of speech. People are imprisoned for social media posts, and preachers are arrested for preaching the Gospel. England is lost.

The English empire is in the throes of death, but a patriotic few took to the streets this past week to turn England around. Hundreds of thousands of British patriots flooded the streets of London for the “Unite the Kingdom” rally. They demand the country return to its Christian heritage and restore its Christian foundation.

Sadly, it may be too late for England. They have already lost their basic rights and are overrun with militant Islamic and Marxist extremists. A peaceful resolution may not be possible.

England’s decline is a stark warning for America. Return to God or our demise is inevitable. That’s why “Rededicate America 250” is vitally important to our national survival. President Trump is not a particularly religious man, but he recognizes the power of God and that he can never hope to make America great again without God.

The Trump administration created “Rededicate American 250” because they know without it we can succeed. Trump himself is calling Americans to prayer and asking for God’s blessings. He is also reading scripture as an example. Americans should read their Bible daily and pray for America. Join the revival and rededicate yourself and your family. God bless America at 250!

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
