Free enterprise is the lifeblood of Liberty!
By Jake Jacobs
Ronald Reagan once quipped, "Free enterprise has done more to reduce poverty than all the government programs dreamed up by Democrats." I couldn't agree more but free enterprise has done much, much, more than reduce poverty and I'm tired of Big Government collectivist Democrats with all their bizarre convoluted bureaucratic schemes to expand government programs at the expense of free enterprise opportunities and innovation. Under the guise of solving our problems these Democratic "do-gooders" not only exasperate our problems but stifle the very source of solving many of our problems: free enterprise!
I am proud to defend "Capitalism" or it's more appropriate appellation: free enterprise! America's founders understood that government's primary purpose was not to create jobs or to solve our problems for to do so would make us beholden to government mandates, dictates and confiscation of our property to pay for those "government jobs" and so called "problems" solved. The Government's job is simple and limited. The Government's job is to essentially get out of the way FREE citizens and leave them alone as they creatively pursue life and happiness with their God given Liberty. When a foreign enemy or another government entity encroaches upon our God given freedoms then and only then has the government been given permission by it's creators "We the people" to destroy our foreign enemies or check and balance an intrusive imbalanced government involvement in our lives.
While not invented or coined by Karl Marx the term "Capitalism" as used by Marx, Leftists and Marxists throughout history carry's with-it a derisive and demeaning connotation that attempts to make all individuals engaged in the entrepreneurial free enterprise system Ebenezer Scrooge or John Rockefeller.(by the way Scrooge turns out to be a good "capitalist" in Dickens classic tale and Rockefeller gave millions of dollars to many philanthropic causes) Yes, you do have greedy business men throughout history and yes Wall Street has it's share of corrupt individuals involved with perks from both Democrat and Republican politicians but to indict the whole free enterprise system while calling to replace it with corrupt and greedy government bureaucrats and socialistic sorcery is not the answer to our economics woes.
The Occupy radicals, intelligentsia, academic establishment and media elites have perpetuated a mythological 1% capitalist demon versus the saintly 99% oppressed who hypocritically lived an incredibly free, comfortable, convenient and socially mobile life thanks to the hard work, inventiveness and ingenuity of the practitioners of free enterprise. These so called 99% have become fools played like a fiddle while Obama and his Keynesian cohorts spend, spend, spend, stimulate, stimulate stimulate us into economic despair and disastrous debt!
While not perfect Romney and Ryan are truer to Adam Smith, Ludwig von Misses, Friedrich Hayek and Milton Freedman than Obama's Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Sidney Webb, John Maynard Keynes and Saul Alinsky. The answer to our economic woes is simple:
"Government, Obama, Progressives, Socialists, Marxists, leave us alone, step out of our way and let us utilize our God given gifts and talents and we will create the train, the automobile, the airplane, the television, the stereo, the telephone, the iPhone, the computer, the light bulb and a million other inventions that are birthed in a free mind, designed, developed, marketed and sold in a free society, by enterprising free citizens who have not been smothered and squelched by socialistic schemes that are the antithesis of the vision of America's founders who were lovers of our Republic under God and the free enterprise system that is the lifeblood of liberty!
