TOWNHALL — New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams is pushing against his party's anti-God agenda and speaking out about the dangers of separating church and state. Adams, who has not shied away from embracing his political beliefs, attributed the spike in crime to a lack of faith. "Don't tell me about no separation of church and state. State is the body. Church is the heart. You take the heart out of the body; the body dies," Adams said to a group of faith-based leaders in Manhattan.... (more)

PETE RIEHM — The world can be an ugly place, and it seems to be getting uglier every day for many of us. In many parts of the U.S., crime is out of control—but it is the increase in shockingly cruel crime that is most disturbing. It seems more and more we hear of carjackers or muggers senselessly killing their victims. Murder itself seems to be getting more gruesome, as dismemberment and mutilation are becoming common. We also hear of parents killing their children, or children killing their parents. All these trends are indicative of an abject lack of respect for life. It’s not just that the perpetrators have no empathy for their victims, but they also seem to have no respect for their own lives.... (more)

ROBERT SPENCER — Kamala Harris, whose prospects have been dimming for quite some time in light of her bungling of the easiest job in the world, the vice presidency, has given us a new indication that she sparks all the enthusiasm of a soggy piece of toast. On Thursday, the supposed vice president gave a speech to journalists representing historically black colleges and universities on the alleged effects of climate change on minority communities. As Harris entered the room, former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms asked that everyone stand and then reminded them: “You can clap. It’s okay.”... (more)

THE FEDERALIST — Angela Davis is a poster girl for leftist radicals. She’s a communist, former Black Panther, and critical theorist who has made a career out of sowing racial division. On Wednesday, however, the victimhood status she’s been carefully curating and profiting off for decades was severely undermined after it was revealed that Davis is a descendent of the earliest Europeans to begin settling North America, the Mayflower passengers.... How a Texas lawsuit over proxy voting could nuke Biden’s entire $1.7 trillion Dec. 29 spending spree
MARGOT CLEVELAND — Joe Biden’s Dec. 29 signing of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 was invalid because the House never actually passed the omnibus spending bill the president purportedly signed into law. At least, that’s what Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claims in a little-noticed lawsuit he filed last week against the Biden administration. If a court agrees, the taxpayer-funded $1.7 trillion federal spending spree — and every other aspect of that bill — could be rendered void.... (more)
