Where did all the pro-Palestinian protesters come from? How did America become overrun with terrorist sympathizers, particularly on college campuses? Open societies that cherish free speech have the perennial problem that their enemies have free rein to spew vitriol against that nation. It’s not a new burden, but a tolerable one if the nation is still strongly committed to its founding principles of freedom. With so many of our youth embracing anti-Semitism, endorsing terrorism, and yearning for socialism, the question is: Are Americans still committed to this country and the freedom America stands for?
The incessant widespread support for Hamas on college campuses is irrational and puzzling. It’s impossible to reconcile progressive notions of an open society with the values held by Palestinians in Gaza. The malcontents who support them claim a right to free speech, but they do not tolerate differing opinions – they will harass and even assault those who disagree with them. By contract, there is NO freedom of speech in Gaza, or any Muslim country for that matter.
Several times we have witnessed the abjectly absurd protests of LGBTQ+ groups in support of Hamas. The stark mismatch is startling. Hamas would not hesitate to throw any of these LGBTQ+ supporters off a building. There is no denial from Palestinians, but if one points out the dangerous irony, it’s dismissed as “colonial rhetoric.” Two idiot Rutgers University professors claim that calling out how Muslims brutalize LGTBTQ+ people is homophobic violence! HUH?! The people killing homosexuals is not condemned as violence, but the people warning you the others will kill homosexuals is violence? The intellectual contortions are astounding, and this is the garbage we are paying for at our universities.
The further irony is that Israel is a pluralistic society. Israel tolerates LGBTQ+ people and does not persecute them. The media also never reports that there are Arabs, Bedouins, and Muslims serving in Israeli Defense Forces; they serve their country because they are NOT persecuted. The only Jews in Gaza are hostages, or dead.
The evil designs of Hamas are inescapable. Hamas exploits their own people as human shields and celebrates their deaths just to shame Israel, and leftists gladly fulfill their propaganda goals. Hamas has murdered, raped, and tortured innocent civilians; the bloodthirsty protesters applaud that carnage, but howl that Palestinians suffer in a war they started. When pushed on this point, they moan that the Palestinians are not Hamas, but the son of the co-founder of Hamas, Mosab Yousef, who defected to Israel in 1997, scuttled such rubbish recently on the Dr. Phil Show. He countered a Hamas apologist by pointing out the Palestinian people overwhelming support Hamas and everything they do (polls show 70-75% support). Palestinians and Hamas are essentially indistinguishable.
While Israel is in the throes of an existential threat from Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Biden administration is not pressuring Hamas to release hostages (they don’t even mention the American hostages) or pressuring Iran-backed Hezbollah to back off (Biden keeps easing sanctions on Iran). The Biden aAdministration is pressuring Israel for a ceasefire to give Hamas relief and more humanitarian aid to aid Hamas who will steal any aid. Biden is not just abandoning Israel in their hour of need; he is backstabbing them.
Biden is actively meddling in Israeli domestic politics by stoking a colour revolution to remove Netanyahu. Biden wants him gone because Biden and his leftist henchmen demand a two-state solution, but the funny thing is Hamas doesn’t want a two-state solution – they will only settle for the annihilation of Israel. Biden knows it won’t work, but he is desperate to curry favor with the Muslim-supporting Democrats he needs for reelection. He had to cancel the annual White House Ramadan Dinner because Muslims refused to come. So, he is throwing Israel to terrorist wolves simply for political gain.
This brings us back to the rise of anti-Americanism, antisemitism, and anti-capitalism in America. During the recent celebration of Al Quds Day, the annual pro-Palestinian observance on the last day of Ramadan, there were repeated chants of “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.” Was this protest in Tehran? Gaza? No, it was in Dearborn, Michigan! Could you imagine Germans holding pro-NAZI rallies in America during WWII? But these are the voters Biden is courting.
The point is, as made in Mark Levin’s book “Democrats hate America!”: Antisemitism on college campuses is a mask for anti-Americanism. Jewish students at Tulane University wrote an open letter to the university administration asking for protection, but also calling out the “Students for Democratic Society” (SDS) for inciting violence against Jews. The SDS was founded in the 1960s as a student group to advance Marxism. They are committed to the overthrow of our Constitutional Republic. SDS has prospered over the decades literally hijacking the Democrat Party and infiltrating our universities.
Israel bears the brunt of these recent militant protests, but their real target is America. Like the NAZIs, they target Jews, but given any latitude, they will also target Christians. This is a sadly growing Marxist movement that ultimately wants the demise of capitalism and liberty. Western civilization is based on Judeo-Christian principles and those principles embodied in America are the only obstacle to global tyranny, so leftists must destroy anyone that upholds those principles. They are after the Jews now, but Christians and Americans are next. It’s not about Israel; it’s about America!
“Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all” (Isaiah 41:11-12).
