Common Core
By Frank Maguire
I suggest that readers research the latest push for something called Common Core mandated education. I have done this.
What prompted my interest? On Rt. 10, between Tucson and Phoenix, AZ, I saw a large, glamorous bill-board that instructs that everyone's future is determined in their first five years of life.
I also noticed another colorful bill-board further north on Rt. 10 promoting The Colin L. Powell Center for Leadership and Service that is grounded on the same globalist-internationalist public-service paradigm as is Common Core and Saul Alinsky's IAF – Industrial Areas Foundation (established in 1993) – and its ally ACORN. "OUR MISSION: Established in 1997, the Center's mission is to prepare new generations of publicly engaged leaders from populations previously underrepresented in public service and policy circles, to build a strong culture of civic engagement at City College, and to mobilize campus resources to meet pressing community needs and serve the public good. The Center focuses its efforts in areas of community and economic development, education, health care, environmental concerns, international development, and global security issues.
As I watched the Master's Tournament, this weekend, I saw promo after promo for "Global and International" economic and social necessities in our emerging – present and future – World. One major funder of the adverts is Exxon.
My research took me to the latest experiments in education: Common Core.
There is far too much material for me to detail in a short article, so I must leave it to the reader to do her/his own research. You'll find the basics in the following web-sites.

My second recommendation is that it would be invaluable for you to access the four-volume, extremely well researched and documented study by writer Stephanie Block: Change Agents-The Alinskyian Organizing Among Religious Bodies – Systemic Reform.
The operative concept one will find in the Common Core material is "systemic reform."
In this material you'll find the buzz-phrases that have been pushed in recent years, such as "sustainable development," and "public private cooperation."
My sabbatical from writing has been for the purpose of devoting my efforts to study. This, which I offer here, is a result of said studies. I hope that they are informative, instructive, and...cautionary.
