Elections: pitiful decoration for our chains?

In a brief news interview I gave in February 2009, I pointed out Obama's leftist radicalism and warned of his agenda to destroy the liberty of the American people. Later in 2009, I predicted that "Obama's "policies will usher in the destruction of Israel, and greatly encourage and strengthen the deadly aims of those in the Islamic world whose lust for its destruction has led them to ingest and act upon some of the foulest ordure left by the Nazis' dysentery of hatred for the Jewish people." I saw tragic irony in the fact that Obama won the 2008 election with "the support of rich and influential people from the very community indelibly scarred by the 20th century's inhuman ambitions."

Early in 2009, in discussing one of the early warning signs of the enslaving aim of Obama's health-care takeover, I wrote:
But it must be increasingly evident to all but the most stubbornly blind among us that government control of the banks and the healthcare system is only the first stage in the imposition of complete government control of every aspect of our economic lives. In service to this aim, the Obama faction moves to bankrupt the nation, so that none will have the wherewithal and will to resist their coup d'état. Today, they move to make all healthcare workers slaves in conscience to the state. Soon and very soon, this shall be the fate of us all. Our soldiers and police are being trained and will be required to move against the right to keep and bear arms, born of our unalienable right to preserve and defend the innocent lives of others. Our pastors, rabbis, and other religious leaders will be required to surrender the right to live according to their beliefs whenever their free exercise of religion runs counter to the demands of "gay pride," the selfish-esteem of homosexuals; or the anti-religious bigotry of atheists who cannot bear to hear the prayers of others. Parents will be required, without exception, to surrender their children for indoctrination by the state. Scientists and technical people will be required to lend their knowledge and expertise to refine and operate the instruments of surveillance that utterly destroy all privacy, and the instruments of mollification (chemical and otherwise) that utterly subvert the will. And so on.
Early in 2010, I foresaw the reasons why unionized and other workers should hate, and would ultimately turn against, Obamacare. Later that same year, I wrote about the destructive implications of Obama's foreign, military, and national security policies. I called him "the first anti-American occupant of the White House." I suggested that his policies could be construed as the work of reasonably intelligent, competent people only if one saw them for what they are: leftist ideologues, self-righteously acting as "America's executioners" – carrying out a verdict, warranted by their ideological judgment against "America's abusive enslaving imperialism," and determined, therefore, to erase the power and success of the American people from the map of history.

The year 2013 has witnessed a virtual cascade of events that have confirmed the prognostications and predictions I have continually and repeated made about the destructive, anti-American nature and intent of Barack Obama and all those who collaborate with him. But those same events have clearly demonstrated that the Obama collaboration includes almost the whole of the GOP's national leadership. From Obamacare to immigration, from enslaving Obamacare mandates to feckless foreign policy debacles, the GOP leaders have been either complicit, supine, or AWOL. They have also shamelessly declared political war on GOP U.S. senators and representatives who have honestly tried to represent the intense opposition to socialist tyranny simmering hot amongst the voters. Obama has usurped the executive power intended to preserve the nation, in order to destroy it. In like manner, the GOP leaders have usurped the political party that is supposed to represent Americans who are loyal to liberty and the Constitution. And they have used their leadership position to belittle, criticize, obstruct, and betray us.

Just as I predicted and warned against Obama's agenda, so in many speeches, articles, and interviews since 2008 I predicted, analyzed, and warned about this pattern of betrayal in the controlling leadership of the GOP. More and more people are joining the chorus of warning and opposition against Obama's tyrannical, communist agenda. They are finally admitting the fatal threat he poses to America's Constitution and liberty.

But too many people remain tragically blind to, or apathetic about, the truth that is the key to thwarting Obama's anti-American putsch. Tyrannical socialism would have no chance of overthrowing the citadel of America's liberty except for the consistent and increasingly bold cooperation of the forces that dominate what is supposed to be the Republican opposition.

In the 19th century, Abraham Lincoln and many others prominent in the rise of the original Republican Party started their political careers as members of the Whig Party. When the Whigs refused to confront the challenge of expanding slavery, or promote the policies needed to exploit the nation's opportunities for economic development, these political leaders left the Whig Party. They accepted the task of representing the voters the Whigs refused to heed.

In our day, where are the political leaders with enough foresight, integrity, and courage to accept the task of effectively representing the voters the GOP's elitist faction leaders are betraying? People like Mitch McConnell and John McCain clearly regard these voters with disdain. They portray authentically American conservative voters as cretins, who deserve to have no choice in politics that truly represents their faith in God and their allegiance to their country's God- acknowledging principles. When people point to GOP politicians like Ted Cruz, I answer them by adapting an old saw ("Your actions speak so loudly, etc."): "These days their party label resounds with so much repeated treachery that I cannot believe in their actions."

The GOP leadership has now firmly conveyed its surrender in principle on issues of fundamental right like abortion and the rights of the natural family. Given this surrender, I find it especially hard to understand how people of faith can go on deluding themselves with false hopes. Such an unprincipled leadership will never allow the GOP to be the ark of America's preservation against the current tidal wave of godless socialism and expedient Machiavellian politics.

It may at times be true: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." But if it's really broke, you don't fix it either, you replace it with something that works. Have Americans forgotten how to replace hijacked political parties? If so, nothing will ever restore their self-government. For when elections offer decent folks no choice that actually represents them, the process of election amounts to nothing more than pitiful decoration for our chains.
