Setting a news historic standard

Ignoring the drama of Democrats' failed bogus impeachment scheme, President Trump boldly and courageously seized the historic moment. He donned the mantle of leadership given him by the American people and set a new standard for State of the Union speeches that, God willing, will endure for decades.

President Trump began with the declaration, "The years of economic decay are over!" to cheers in the Capitol which surely resonated in the hearts and minds of American patriots all around the world.

Laying the foundation for what was to come, the president reminded the nation of where he began his first term in the White House, stating that the days of broken promises are gone. He then proceeded to highlight the spectacular accomplishments of his administration. Among them, is the fact that unemployment is currently at the lowest of any administration in U.S. history. To this, Democrats could not bring themselves to applaud American achievements, but sat stoically in stony silence as has become customary for this crop of liberal politicians.

Mr. Trump's speech celebrated what he called, a blue-collar boom, historic stock market gains, and the fact that the United States in now energy independent and the world's leading producer of oil and natural gas. The North American Free Trade Agreement (N.A.F.T.A.), he said, which caused a 25% decline in U.S. jobs, has been replaced with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (U.S.M.C.A.).

The president announced that his administration has reversed the failed Cuba policy implemented by the previous administration, and that the U.S. is leading a 59-nation delegation opposing Venezuela's socialist dictator, Nicolas Maduro. To resounding applause, the president said that the U.S. has invested $2.2 trillion to strengthen our military services to keep American interests secure abroad.

From this moment on, the event began to take on the excitement that reality-television cannot hope to inspire – one that celebrates sacrifice and honor rather than cheating and lying. Mr. Trump recognized the oldest living Tuskeegee Airman, Charles McGee, who the president has promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. Charles McGee is 100-years-old.

The president asked Congress to pass the Educational Freedom Scholarships and Opportunity Act in order to offer school choice to American children stuck in failing public schools. He punctuated the moment by announcing that he was awarding a scholarship to a pupil from Pennsylvania, where Democrat Governor, Tom Wolf, recently vetoed a bill that would have given her that choice.

Adding to the enthusiasm, radio talk-show host, Rush Limbaugh, who has been diagnosed with an advanced form of lung cancer, was honored with an impromptu presentation of the American Freedom award by First Lady, Melania Trump, to roaring cheers from the auditorium.

President Trump announced an executive order that ensures price transparency in hospital and health care costs, and called on members of Congress to terminate taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens.

In a frontal assault on callous Democrat infanticide policies, the president recognized a mother whose child was born premature yet thrives against overwhelming odds, and he called for an end to late term abortions nationwide to thunderous cheers.

Regarding the illegal immigration crisis, Mr. Trump declared that the previous administration's policy of "catch and release" has ended and he honored Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) Agents who have arrested 120,000 criminal aliens. To illustrate the peril illegal aliens pose to citizens, the president noted that a 92-year-old woman was raped and brutally murdered in New York as a result of that state's lawless sanctuary policy. He also asked Congress to pass the Victims of Alien Violence Act which would allow victims of crime to sue sanctuary states and cities responsible for releasing criminal aliens back into the community.

During the speech, President Trump recognized the wife and children of a soldier who was deployed, and then, announced that he had been brought home to be reunited with his family. Cheers erupted throughout the chamber when the Sergeant appeared and embraced his family.

As a crowning gem of inspirational oratory, the president observed America's rich and vibrant heritage of religious freedom and tolerance and acknowledged our dependence upon Almighty God from our nation's founding to the present day. He humbly glorified the God who is.

In his brief but electrifying speech, President Trump exalted the American spirit. His power and presence dragged the childish insurgents of the opposition party to the woodshed for a well-deserved public spanking. Red-faced and humiliated, House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi sat uncomfortably behind the president signaling her discontent with little effect. Democrat displays of immaturity and bitter partisanship culminated with Speaker Pelosi tearing up what appeared to be her copy of President Trump's speech.

By God's grace, malicious antics like these are not indicative of the sentiments of the American people, but are reminiscent of Soviet-style belligerence divorced from higher reason and common decency. Pelosi and her gang of thuggish politicians do not yet realize what they have done to themselves in the eyes of the nation. But later this year, they shall.

The amazing brilliance of the past three years of American success and excellence, strikes blind the previous eight. May we never return to the fatal policies of tyranny and ruin that Democrats mistakenly label progress.
