Trump's caravan grand slam

At a Thursday afternoon White House press conference carried live only by Fox News and ignored by the three major news networks, President Trump superbly addressed the coming Honduran invasion forces. The mainstream media has thus far falsely characterized the "caravan" as a sympathetic mass migration of refugees and asylum-seekers composed mostly of poor women and children seeking only a better life.

The truth is that there are now at least four massive groups heading toward the United States. Images returning from Central America and Mexico clearly show that these are not indigents fleeing poverty or danger. Despite bogus media reports that the masses are desperate immigrants, this is not a benign, spontaneous exodus from despair, but a potential national security disaster which the president has vowed to halt. Up to 15,000 U.S. troops are being sent to target areas in order to support the border patrol.

The hoards of people can be tracked by satellite imagery as well as ground-based backscatter radar from distances of thousands of miles from several locations within the United States. Long range over-the-horizon backscatter radar sites are often used to track drug traffickers outside the country as they approach U.S. territory.

The president stated that nearly 100% of the heroin and most of the cocaine and fentanyl coming into the United States enters through Mexico. He also identified human traffickers and terrorists among those who routinely enter the country illegally. Because of the violent actions committed by Honduran mobs against Mexican officials, President Trump warned that those who throw stones and rocks at U.S. troops and border agents will be treated as if they were shooting firearms, which could result in authorization of the use of deadly force.

According to the Mexican authorities, Hondurans crossing into Mexico were offered jobs, healthcare, and education, but the offers were rejected. Instead, Mexican police were attacked with rocks and bottles thrown by migrants. As a result, the president said that these are not asylum seekers, and he has promised to make it more difficult for those entering the United States illegally to stay by changing the Obama-era policy of rubber stamping asylum applications. Tents will be erected to house the foreign nationals until their asylum claims can be adjudicated by U.S. courts.

President Trump blamed Democrats for the lack of effective immigration enforcement and the porosity of the U.S.-Mexican border. He said that, in the past, illegal aliens would enter the country and be released pending a court hearing which may be scheduled as long as one year later. During the interim, the president said, illegal aliens would fade into U.S. cities and towns never returning to court.

Available images from the Honduran invasion route show that those who are coming toward the southern border are well dressed in casual attire and mostly men, not the poor and helpless downtrodden families with women and children as has been widely reported. Most carry backpacks similar to those used by American school children. Some are wearing sportswear bearing the Nike logo, while others are clad in shirts or jackets displaying the Seattle Seahawks or NFL trademarks.

Like Muslim terrorists in Syria and Iraq, who used civilians as human shields, the Honduran men have placed the few women and children at the front of the hoards for the benefit of news media cameras, as they trail behind.

Those of us who are media watchers can surmise that there are several reasons that ABC, NBC, and CBS did not broadcast the president's news conference live. One is so that fewer people will understand the true nature of this threat which the media has obscured in order to preserve the mirage they have fashioned and hide the real human cost of permitting it to succeed. Another is to bury the politically explosive charges made by the president that Democrats steadfastly oppose all border enforcement efforts. But the main reason not to air the press conference must be so that editors could select a few sound-bites that they could then use to make President Trump's remarks appear mean, cruel, racist, or otherwise distasteful according to their ongoing political narrative.

ABC's World News Tonight report with Jonathan Karl was perhaps the most outrageously false of the three major networks. Karl replayed a comment that Trump made as a presidential candidate, in which he promised to always tell the truth. Then, in a recent interview, Karl asked the president if he had kept that promise, framing Trump's answer to appear as a confession that he has lied, while conveniently ignoring the fact that there are some matters involving classified information or national security in which no president can be totally forthcoming. Karl persisted in referring to the Honduran invaders as "immigrants," and feigned outrage when Mr. Trump said that the organized Honduran invasion force is a clear threat to the safety and security of American people.

While the World Series of baseball ended last week, President Trump hit a major league grand slam home-run of his own today. He spelled out the compelling case for stopping the carefully-designed international political media event known as the caravan, which challenges the sovereignty of the United States and the authority of his office. He exposed the obvious motives, the actual composition. and the specious timing of the caravan, which is predicted to have an impact on the November midterm elections, though not necessarily as intended.

The vast majority of America's news media serves to market fatal Democrat policies. To believe otherwise is to do violence to clear and compelling reality. Those who oppose President Trump's efforts to safeguard the American people have exposed themselves as America's belligerent enemies. They will not rest. Neither can we.
