Brown: “We oppose any and all research that denies the humanity of the embryo by using him as nothing more than an experimental tool.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. (27 May 2021) - American Life League president Judie Brown released the following statement today following the news that a stem cell research organization has called for the removal of a rule against growing and experimenting on embryonic human beings after 14 days of gestation:
The monsters in the laboratory know no bounds. There are no other words to describe the latest call from the International Society for Stem Cell Research to expand the boundaries for experimentation on human embryonic children.
In an effort to push back the 14-day rule for experimentation and research on human embryos, the ISSCR is opening a Pandora's box of horrors, including its proposed creation of chimeras (hybrids involving cells from various species such as the recent efforts to create monkey-human embryos). Such experiments would not be sanctioned in a truly civilized society.
American Life League takes the position that all the 14-day rule has ever done is set an arbitrary limit on which embryonic human beings can be killed and which cannot. The only way out of this moral morass is to stop all such research, not expand it so that even more babies die!
We oppose any and all research that denies the humanity of the embryo by using him as nothing more than an experimental tool. Stop the madness; stop the research.
