Love spelled CLSP!
By Judie Brown
The Culture of Life Studies Program's new lesson teaches children the value of each and every person and educates them on the life of a preborn child.
CLSP is the acronym for American Life League's Culture of Life Studies Program, a remarkable and growing effort to help teachers and parents bring children face-to-face with what it means to live a pro-life life by respecting the gifts of life, marriage, and family.
The latest CLSP offering is a comprehensive unit study for middle school students and the first of three in the Defend Life series. Entitled The Beauty of the Developing Human Being, this unit study is a fantastic tool for bringing to life the awesome wonder of the development of the human individual before birth.
Content developer Laura Kizior writes, "In creating Defend Life we worked with experts, educators, and parents to create a scientifically-accurate, easy-to-use program that trains students to be effective communicators of the pro-life message. Students don't just get excited about being pro-life, they're given practical tools to evangelize to their peers. If we can teach students to understand the intrinsic value of every person – born and preborn – we can win the battle against the culture of death."
And that is the point of this entire program. American Life League's mission is to fulfill our commitment to unequivocally protect innocent persons at every stage of their lives starting at the beginning. We realized long ago that this was neither a political goal nor a legislative one, but rather a human endeavor requiring prayer, education, and commitment to truth.
The CLSP is taking the pro-life message of hope and love directly to the classrooms and homes of our nation. It is speaking the truth. And we need this program now more than ever. For more than 50 years Planned Parenthood and its allies have slithered their way into educational programs from one end of this nation to the other. The propaganda is well known; its victims are legion.
But we do not curse the darkness; we prefer lighting candles and shedding bright light on the solution to the problem. Only then can it be solved.
After half a century of an educational system dedicated to desensitization, misinformation, and denial of God's role as the Creator of the individual, the Culture of Life Studies Program has become the way out of the darkness and into the light of love – a love that is born in the truth that every person has value, that traditional marriage is sacred, and that family is the hope of the future.
In a recent commentary from the Culture of Life Studies program team, we are told: "Unless children develop a personal conviction that society has the duty to protect every human being and have the knowledge to back up those convictions, they are at risk for buying into the lies pushed by the culture of death." The article goes on to list "practical ways that you can help your kids live a pro-life life when they go out into the world by themselves."
This is the essence of the Culture of Life Studies Program – a program that American Life League is committed to with every fiber of our collective being.
Cardinal Raymond Burke recently endorsed this program, saying, "In order to establish a culture of life, it is essential that children be educated, from their earliest years, to know the truths about the gift of life, of marriage, and of the family so that they can become adults who will embrace the culture of life in all their thinking and in all aspects of their daily living. The Culture of Life Studies Program of the American Life League provides an excellent program to teach children, from their very earliest years through their teens, in an age-appropriate, consistent and systematic way, to understand and embrace the culture of life."
We invite you to learn more about CLSP today and understand why I believe that love for God, truth, and life can be spelled CLSP!
