Those who think the Bible is just a heap of moral platitudes and ancient religious practices are surprised to learn that the Bible does say something about rioting, reveling, and rebellion. Let's look.
“Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying” (Romans 13:13).
The First Amendment and free speech were once used to produce something good to make positive changes in the nation. That day seems to have slipped away, along with a lot of other powerful, foundational measures.
One lesson the Bible teaches us is that often riotous behavior is produced to facilitate something evil. In Christ's day, they rioted to stop the ministry of the Apostle Paul. They rioted to stop the freeing of Jesus by facilitating the release of Barabbas the thief.
We use the term "peaceful protests," but that's almost become a joke. There is hardly any peace in the protest of late in Minneapolis, Minnesota. People have died. Fingers have been bitten off. Property has been totally destroyed and the normal way of life in that city has all but vanished.
The rebellion goes all the way up the line to the mayor and the governor.
Don't look at this – Look at something else
Some say it is just a giant distraction to hide the grandest theft of American wealth in our history. This is a case of $19 billion worth of missing money, and to date, nobody has been subpoenaed, indicted, tried, and jailed – a few have been deported. Wow. Is that the new justice in America? If only the American taxpayers knew they were not actually helping the nation, but just creating a slush fund for Somalians or anybody else that wants to dip in to the nearly bottomless money pit.
It seems that Tim Walz has given in just a bit after his talk with the President. In Maple Grove, Minnesota, he's allowed local police to make arrests of the protesters. But many are skeptical.
In the American Tribune, one writer said: “All of these people will be released by Minneapolis judges the next day or two and their charges dismissed. The people behind the fraud scandal got away with it. The people behind the insurrection got away with it.”
The American Dream: A suitcase full of money
It is hard not to be shocked by a recent video that shows a Somalian woman boarding an aircraft back to Somalia. While she is being inspected, they open a suitcase with $500,000 in cash. She can't say where she got it from. All she can do is keep repeating that it's good, because it's money that her family needs. This is a perfect example of the meaning of "the end justifies the means."
Can we get some help from the Sioux?
Both the words “Minneapolis” and “Minnesota” have their etymological derivation in the language of the Dakota Sioux. Although it's not a real solution, after looking at the problems that Trump faces with the rebellious Mayor Frey and the recalcitrant Governor Walz, it seems like something that maybe actually could work. Maybe it's time, as the phrase so clearly states: to give them back to the Indians!
Could the Sioux do any worse than we have done?
We've got the clause, but we need a pause
It would be safe to say that no state or city can continually ignore the supremacy clause for too long. Eventually, the Fed has to implant its will on the situation.
What is the clause?
Article VI, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution says (in plain terms):
The Constitution, and the laws of the United States made under it, and treaties made under it, are the supreme law of the land.
Judges in every state are bound by them, even if state laws say otherwise.
Three strong answers that require great patience
After asking AI the process by which forensic audits take place for the federal and the state governments, they gave me a strong answer. They went step-by-step through the process and how it works. Then, they summarized with these three points.
- Law is cautious by design
- Governments move slower than outrage
- Evidence must survive court, not headlines
Perhaps this is the best way of saying AI has got more brains than we give them credit for, and we have less brains than we credit ourselves with.
Quite simply, there are two things we must pursue:
- Peace in the state of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis
- Recovery of our $19 billion bucks.
What can we do?
In the meantime, we should endeavor to sincerely pray for our leaders, and at this critical moment in time, for both Mayor Frey and Governor Tim Walz and President Donald Trump.
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (1Tim 2:1-2)
