WASHINGTON TIMES — Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Tuesday compared the articles of impeachment drafted against him by members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus to an extortion attempt. "There have been people who have been making threats privately and publicly against me for quite some time, and I think they should understand the Department of Justice is not going to be extorted," he said, speaking at the Newseum's Law Day event. "We are going to do what is required by the rule of law and any kind of threats anybody makes are not going to affect the way we do our job."... (more)

NATIONAL REVIEW — The Republican-controlled Iowa legislature passed a bill Wednesday that would ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected. Since a heartbeat is often found as early as six weeks into pregnancy, the measure would qualify as the most stringent abortion restriction in the country if Republican governor Kim Reynolds signs it into law.... WASHINGTON TIMES — Nearly 200 members of Congress and 100 state and national pro-life groups are calling on the Trump administration to take taxpayers out of the abortion business. The coalition sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar on Monday asking him to cut off abortion providers from Title X dollars, which are earmarked for family planning services.... WASHINGTON TIMES — Texas led a coalition of states Tuesday in a lawsuit challenging the legality of the Obama-era DACA deportation amnesty, opening up a new legal front in the increasingly messy battle over illegal immigration. HAARETZ — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed a cache of documents he says proves Iran lied to the world about its nuclear program for years, even after the 2015 nuclear deal with the world.
