Obama-drooling media create their very own lame duck

That's right, and it wasn't only Katie Couric. For the past two years, when Obama was in campaign mode and after his Acorn- and foreign-money-fueled election, the entire leftwing media debased what once passed for legitimate journalism. With absolute consistency, they:

  • Failed utterly to vet an inexperienced, document-concealing candidate (we still haven't seen Obama's Illinois law license or an authentic birth certificate).

  • Failed to investigate the veracity of aggrandizing information spewed by Obama's spin doctors and then repeated their spin (they still say, for instance, that he was a law professor, which he never was).

  • Failed to conceal their stunning lack of objectivity through the soft-ball questions they asked and, as Bernard Goldberg says, their "slobbering" obsequiousness.

  • Failed to distance themselves from the leftwing radicals who see racism where none exists — and even echoed their paranoia!

  • Failed to camouflage their personal biases both for Obama and against any of his critics or political opponents and competitors.

  • Failed to correct his virtual avalanche of lies, which John Ellis has catalogued in scandalous and chilling detail, saying that "the accumulated weight of Obama's deceit is overwhelming....as a result, this nation is now in a position where it cannot believe a word that he says, and that amounts to an unprecedented crisis of confidence in the Presidency."

TYRANNY OF THE AMERICAN MEDIA

As UK columnist and commentator Gerald Warner asks: "Why is it that the true view of Resident Barack Obama (you know, the illegal alien living over at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington) is openly expressed in the major media around the world, but nary a word of it is printed in any of the newspapers in the United States? Increasingly, the red god of Islamic communism in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, is becoming more immune from scrutiny from the media out of fear of the race word. Whenever he is criticized for his un-American actions, his communist actions, or the out-and-out theft of the wealth of the American people, those who criticize him are accused of being racist. That's a First Amendment travesty."

That travesty is because most in the American media are liberals, including a majority of writers and TV and radio people who are not well paid but are still thrilled to be working in the field. Overwhelmingly they take their marching orders from their bosses. Which leads to the obvious question: Why are so many media moguls liberals — you know, the people who flourish in this competitive world, thrive on free-market capitalism, and like their taxes low and their government non-intrusive. Perhaps it's the megalomania that often comes with being a head honcho. Call it the oligarch mentality, liking the notion of the few at the top calling the shots for the many beneath them.

Or maybe it's the oh-too-cozy relationship between news and entertainment, the latter traditionally steeped in bleeding-heart causes and "feelings," and the former both eager and happy to be included in their lavish self-congratulatory affairs, the latest of which — the Screen Actors Guild Awards — led the "news" and featured Hollywood liberals dripping with bling while thousands of Haitians lay buried or dead beneath tons of rubble.

It is this same media that foisted Obama onto the national stage by failing to do their jobs professionally and with integrity. Like a collective of Dr. Frankensteins, they created their own monster. It is relevant to mention here that after nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were murdered by Islamic terrorists on September 11, 2001, one of Obama's closest friends and colleagues, Rev. Jeremiah Wright — who the media significantly chose not to expose for his rank anti-American, anti-white, and anti-Semitic ravings — whipped his congregation into a joyful frenzy when he said that the chickens (of revenge) had come home to roost (on American imperialism). Translation: Big bad America got what she deserved!

WHOSE CHICKENS ARE ROOSTING NOW?

In a variation on that theme, on January 19 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the chickens of fear and loathing of Big Government came to roost on the abomination known as Obamacare. What MA voters said to Obama and his radical conspirators in Congress was essentially Don't Tread on Me!

  • Don't ram your socialized medicine scheme down our throats.

  • Don't tax me to perdition.

  • Don't slash Medicare funding by a half-billion dollars and then deny the existence of death panels.

  • Don't threaten and bribe your way to votes in backroom deals for this unconstitutional bill and think we won't notice.

  • Don't sneak in a provision forcing taxpayers to pay for the in utero murder of babies.

  • And don't think you're entitled to the seat Sen. Ted Kennedy worked tirelessly to retain for nearly half a century on the basis of an anemic campaign and a canned, teleprompter-assisted rah-rah speech.

Good Ole Massachusetts — and Good Ole America — doesn't deserve that!

  • And while you're at it, Mr. Obama, move to the center, or even the eroding support you still have will vanish!

Yes, eroding support, and I'm not even talking about the Democrats in office who just last week were still sipping Obama's Marxist Kool Aid but are now doing Michael Jackson's backward moonwalk. Rather, I mean the media lackeys who licked Obama's boots, created hagiographies, and threw their formidable reputations behind him, but are now fleeing what they clearly see as a sinking ship.

"He's Done Everything Wrong," wrote editor-in-chief of U.S. News & World Report and publisher of the New York Daily News Mort Zuckerman before he elaborated on Neil Cavuto. "I'm very disappointed. I voted for him. I supported him publicly and privately. In the campaign, he said he would change politics as usual. He did change them. It's now worse than it was. I've now seen the kind of buying off of politicians that I've never seen before. It's politically corrupt and it's starting at the top. It's revolting."

And career-liberal Tina Brown, former editor of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker and now publisher of The Daily Beast, tried to cover her tracks by pretending she wasn't Obama's biggest fan.

Even New York Times drooler-in-chief Paul Krugman is bailing: "I'm pretty close to giving up on Mr. Obama, who seems determined to confirm every doubt I and others ever had about whether he was ready to fight for what his supporters believed in."

But most of the liberal hacks on the alphabet networks and on CSPAN and CNN — not just Katie Couric but also Matt Lauer, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Harry Smith, Anderson Cooper, Soledad O'Brien, Andrea Mitchell, Norah O'Donnell, the list is endless — and also political "scholars" like David Letterman and Joy Behar — are still shilling, using the same blame-the-losing-candidate rationalization that didn't ring true even in the NJ and VA races for governor, where Republicans won handily in the "year of Obama." Imagine that!

HEADS UP KATIE & CO.

While you were drooling over Obama and shamelessly failing to report objectively on his words and actions, the little people of Massachusetts and throughout the country were watching and listening to you. Carefully.

When Sarah Palin — a gorgeous, articulate woman with a beautiful family, devoted husband, and stellar credentials — appeared on the scene, you savaged her relentlessly and trotted out such shining examples of womanhood and moral rectitude as Sally Quinn, doyenne of the D.C. social scene and wife of former executive editor of The Washington Post, Ben Bradlee (with whom she had an affair while Bradlee was married) to tell the world that Sarah was "a "political gimmick [and] insulting to women, to the Republican Party, and to the country."

The net result: Sarah became hugely popular, wrote a mega-bestselling book, landed a plum gig on the Fox News Channel, and is now considered one of the premier conservative leaders in America. The media, on the other hand, had plunging ratings and lost both viewers and advertisers.

When the leftist media slammed Republican Robert F. McDonnell in last November's race for governor of Virginia, and praised the incumbent Democrat R. Creigh Deeds, McDonnell won. Similarly, when the same media slammed Republican Chris Christie and even attacked his weight, and praised the incumbent New Jersey Democrat Jon Corzine, Christie won. And this past Tuesday, when the media praised the "rightful inheritor" of Ted Kennedy's seat, Martha Coakley, and sneered condescendingly at Scott Brown and his trusty truck, Brown won.

The net result: the so-called mainstream media lost even more viewers, and this week the leftwing radio network Air America stopped its live broadcasting and announced it will file for bankruptcy.

Starting last April and extending into the summer and beyond, the Tea Party movement and Town Hall meetings grew exponentially, with a rally in Washington, D.C., in September that nearly two million people attended, according to National Park Service estimates. The media derided these impassioned grassroots efforts, hurling their typical personal invective at those who attended.

The net result: a thundering victory for Senator-elect Scott Brown — even in Barney Frank's and Ted Kennedy's districts — as well as the death of Obamacare, and a thorough and unequivocal repudiation of Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and by association, their policies (both foreign and domestic, I believe) as well as their hate-America co-conspirators George Soros, et al.

Right in there, of course, is the liberal media! See the pattern, Katie? Ignore it at the risk of your own extinction.

LIBERALISM IS DEAD

Old-time liberals like HST, Adlai Stevenson, JFK, Scoop Jackson, LBJ, and Hubert Humphrey didn't hate America. They loved America and only argued over how best to serve her. But according to James Lewis:

"The name 'liberalism' has now drifted so far from its moorings that it has turned into a lie. Anybody who uses 'liberal' these days is trying to put one over on you. It's like Florida swampland peddlers talking about their 'beautiful lakeshore.' You can stop listening at that point, because nothing you're going to hear is true. Liberalism used to mean something. Today it's pure Florida swampland, complete with snapping alligators.

"Even Massachusetts may be catching on that so-called liberals don't deserve that name any more. Barney Frank is not a liberal, but a demagogue and corruptocrat with truly awesome, dictatorial arrogance. That is because he has a safe seat in Boston. Chris Dodd is not a liberal, but said to be one of the most corrupt members of the US Senate. Harry Reid is a demagogue and a Machiavellian. Nancy Pelosi is a Mafia moll. We should therefore stop associating the word 'liberal' with such creatures. Liberalism is dead; anyone using that word is lying or living in the long-ago past. What we see now from the Democrats may be Applied Marxism, Hard Leftism, Gangster Leftism or maybe the Machine Politics of the Left. "

Lewis is right. The biased, slanted, leftwing media can no longer be called "liberal." They have crossed the threshold into Hard Left territory and are destined — like the leftists still in office and facing reelection — to be rejected by real America-loving Americans!

Newt Gingrich has urged Mr. Obama to move to the center. "He needs to stop, rethink, recalibrate, and learn some painful lessons. He needs to accept that the country was not voting for a left-wing agenda in 2008."

But Jack Kelly, a former Marine and Green Beret, and former deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force in the Reagan administration, is not sure how Obama will react to Brown's victory in MA. "No president in the history of polling has tumbled so far in a single year from the lofty heights he enjoyed on the day of his inauguration. But as 'change you can believe in' morphed into socialism you must pay for, the administration stalled out and tumbled earthward. We know little about how Mr. Obama responds to crisis, because before becoming president, all he had ever run was his mouth. But in times of stress, he seems to become more partisan, not less."

Want proof? Two days after the MA vote, Obama attacked both the symbol and reality of America's strength, the Wall St. banks that fuel our economy. In true totalitarian — and tone deaf — fashion, he demanded that Congress clamp down on the size of the banks and their investments.

The chairman of the National Black Republican Association, Frances Rice, clearly agrees with Kelly. "How did Obama and the Democrats respond to the Massachusetts earth-shattering vote that reverberated around our nation?" she asks. "They resolved to double down and cram down ObamaCare, gambling that Americans love entitlements more than they love freedom. A lesson Democrats learned from black Americans who consistently vote for Democrats in exchange for government handouts, even though the Democrats' socialist policies have turned black communities into economic and social cesspools."

I agree with Rice. If you've ever been to the Bronx Zoo, you know that Eucalyptus-loving koala bears are never ever going to scale Mimosa or Maple trees. It's not what that species does. It's not in their DNA. Same with the leftists in this administration and same with the leftwing media that singlehandedly created its very own lame duck — an essentially impotent figurehead who has lost both credibility and the trust of the American people! In both cases, ideology trumps all, even if it leaves them — as it will — in the trash heap of history.
