Dear Friends and Patriots,
Jud and I have been at it again. This episode got a bit lengthy, so if you intend to watch it, you might need to do it in increments.
Like all Geezers who Geeze, this isn't a crisp, scripted or directed thing. We sit and hold a conversation and go where it leads. We may start with a basic premise, but when one of us wants to veer, we just go off the track and start creating new paths.
This time we had more visits from my cats. None show on camera, but you'll hear them squabbling in the background at least three times. For some reason only the editor can answer, those three brief feline-related episodes/outbursts are left in the final product. You'll see that both Jud and I were a bit frustrated by the chaos, but as I said, the editor chose to leave it all in.
I won't say anything we talk about in these shows is truly important. It's just things we know about. Even then, sometimes we get things a bit wrong. I'll give three examples from our first two outings – things that were wrong.
The UN building isn't owned by the US government. The land was purchased by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and donated to the UN. The building was paid for by a zero-interest loan from the US government, which was paid back in full over 40 years ago. Those facts being true ... kicking the UN out of the country isn't quite as easy as I had thought. The State Department could cancel all the diplomatic passports for UN officials, but I suspect even Marco Rubio isn't quite that bold.
You heard us speculate on the year of V.I. Lenin's death. Jud said 1922. I said, maybe 1921. We were both wrong. Lenin was killed in 1918. He didn't get to enjoy much of that communist "paradise" he worked so hard to create.
We also speculated on the year of Josef Stalin's death. For those who care, he died in 1953. I personally don't remember 1953. It was the year my 2 younger sisters were born, so they might have more of a reason to know that Stalin died that year than me. Knowing my sisters, though, they more likely remember 1953 because it was the year of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. Or, maybe they remember that Marilyn Monroe made 3 movies that year. I'd name the movies for you, but that would just be showing off.
The Stone & Jud Show is a work-in-progress. I suspect it'll still be a work in progress when we make our very last show, whenever that may be. We have no intent to compete with any of the known podcasters out there. We're just doing this to talk about things of importance and to maybe connect a few dots. We both understand that history is important, but that schools today mostly teach a version of history with a decidedly socialistic spin to it – all thanks to Mr. Howard Zinn and his anti-American and anti-religious book A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES. Jud and I strive to get our history right. We won't give you any flag-waving, super-patriotic American mythology, but we also won't give you anything that is framed by communist ideology.
I did hear from one of you today that the last link didn't work for him. He said he clicked on it, but the video wouldn't play. If any of you have trouble, let me know and I'll see if I can help. The format is a standard video format, but problems do occur once in a while that have to do with a gateway issue. That's hard to deal with unless you get an error message that's coded. Another common problem has to do with download speed. If your computer is slow, or you have a connection with an inadequate baud rate, it could be that your computer will take a while to load up the cache needed to play – and it may also stall out times. My own computer is an obsolete Dell mini-tower, an Inspirion, and I don't have a broad-band connection, but it seems to do okay. Let me know, though. I might be able to help figure out your problem.
I'll sign off now. Here's the link to the show:

P.S. Jud was RIGHT!
Lenin was shot by Fanny Kaplan in 1918, but she failed to kill him. He died in 1923 from a massive cerebral hemorrhage. So, that makes me WRONG twice, and Jud right.
We're just works in progress.
