Europe’s decay and decline are a grave warning for America

With ample domestic challenges, the disastrous mess unfolding in Europe seems too distant to ponder, but we should be paying attention as Europe rushes to their ruin. European economies continue to struggle, the threat of war persists, but worst of all Europe has abandoned their Christian heritage and values. Europeans are learning the hard way the old adage: “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”

The news out of Europe has become routinely disturbing and difficult to grasp the magnitude of the growing problems. However, President Trump’s new National Security Strategy accurately and bluntly describes the impending crisis in Europe; it explains that Europe faces “economic stagnation and civilizational erasure.” The economic stagnation is obvious with European economies barely growing if at all, but the new term “civilizational erasure” is stunning in its honesty and must be unpacked and fully understood because the same danger lurks here.

Trump’s National Security Strategy explains that Europe faces “civilizational erasure” by 1) mass migration, 2) censorship of free speech, and 3) suppression of political opposition. Those three factors seem obvious, but hard to believe it’s actually happening. Wide open borders have plagued Europe longer than America and another big difference is none of the migrants flooding Europe have any inclination to assimilate.

Censoring free speech decimates a democratic country because it eliminates the competition of ideas and the rights of citizens to dissent; that means bad ideas are not challenged and so the people suffer. The follow on to censorship is suppression of political opposition which denies citizens the freedom of choice; it’s simply tyranny. England until recently debanked Nigel Farage’s Reform Party so they could not raise money. France has viciously prosecuted Marie LePen to disqualify her from running for elected office. Germany keeps trying to literally outlaw their opposition party, Alternative fuer Deutschland (AfD).

Mass migration is also undermining Europe’s Christian foundation. It’s not just an invasion of radical Islam but importing cultures that find no fault in lying or stealing, habitually sexually abusing women, and even condone if not endorse pedophilia. Sex crimes in Europe have skyrocketed with migrants accounting for almost the entire increase in sexual assaults. Thefts and violent crimes have also spiraled out of control. Europeans are so much less safe that they are willing to forfeit rights for security.

That’s the same game here. Unfettered migration has created a crime wave in America usually denied by Democrats, but Trump’s mass deportations are showing that deporting illegal migrant criminals indeed reduces crime and makes Americans safer. Every blue city is a testament to the deleterious effects of mass migration. Violent crime is clear and present danger, but fraud and theft as we are learning in Minnesota are also a pernicious problem.

Yes, the United States is a nation of immigrants, but that was immigrants that earnestly want to be Americans – they want to assimilate. For most of our history, immigrants flocked here to become Americans, but in recent years immigrants come to colonize their culture here.

Not all cultures are created equal. Islam teaches it’s acceptable to lie to and steal from infidels whereas Christianity teaches not to lie to or steal from anyone. Other cultures also believe bribery is routine or rape and pedophilia are acceptable. These must be shunned. We allow freedom to worship, so Muslims, pagans, and atheists can worship as they choose; however, we also have the right and duty to recognize that some cultures and values are incompatible with western culture, so they can never have power.

Minnesota is learning that not vetting migrants can cost the state $1 billion in fraud and New York City is about to relearn the failures of socialism. It may be too late for Europe because not only have they ceded their culture to the barbarians; they have abandoned their Christian heritage and no longer believe their national values are superior, so they will surely be conquered by their illegal migrant invaders.

The United States can only evade this plight by rejecting inferior invasive cultures and renewing our commitment to our Christian heritage. Pray!

“These enemy hordes, coming with their livestock and tents, were as thick as locusts; they arrived on droves of camels too numerous to count. And they stayed until the land was stripped bare.” Judges 6:5
