Here is the message that greeted me on Monday morning as I opened my computer and began researching yesterday's program:

We've temporarily limited some of your account features

    What happened?

We have determined that this account violated the Twitter Rules. Specifically, for:

      1. Violating our rules against hateful conduct.

      2. You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.

He's right about Islam. Muslims throw homosexuals off 8-story roofs. Christians want to help them, not hurt them. https://t.co/P5k84hFpnz

Every word in that Tweet is true. Muslims have repeatedly thrown homosexuals off the top of tall buildings to their deaths, any number of which have been caught on tape. Homosexual conduct is a capital offense in Islam. (Here is a CNN report on the practice, lest you think I'm making this up: ISIS throws gay men off buildings.)

Meanwhile, Christians have started too numerous-to-count ministries and outreaches designed to help homosexuals escape the bondage and addiction of non-normative sexuality. LGBT activist bullies seek incessantly to shut these groups down, in large part because everyone who leaves the gay life is a living rebuke to the LGBT dogma that people are "born that way."

You will never read about an attempt to shut down Muslim groups seeking to help homosexuals for the simple reason that such groups do not exist.

As I have said repeatedly, disagreement is not hate. The truth is not hate speech. And discernment is not bigotry.

Now I like Twitter. I like the format. It's a way to instantly inject your own point of view into the public debate on a topic in a concise way. I was an early adopter – I've been on Twitter pretty much since the beginning and I'd like to be back on it. I've sent out somewhere between 41,000 and 42,000 Tweets (I can't get the exact total for you, since I'm frozen out of my account) so I obviously like the platform.

So what do I have to do to get back into the good graces of the Twitter gods? According to Twitter, I have to recant. I'm currently in Twitter jail, sentenced to 12 hours in solitary. But the countdown to zero does not start until I "remove Tweets that violate our rules." I must repent in dust and ashes and remove all traces of my sin before the countdown to my parole date even begins. "By clicking the above button (a big red button marked 'Remove'), you are removing the content of your Tweet and forgoing the option to appeal this violation." So they insist that I bury my opinion, sit down, and shut up.

So I must comply with the totalitarians at Twitter and meekly absorb my punishment. Most of the people I follow on Twitter who have been incarcerated have submitted to removing "offensive" Tweets just to get their privileges back. Well, I'm not going to do it. I will not agree to remove Tweets that do nothing more than declare the truth about anything, including homosexuality and Islam.

As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 13:8 (one of my life verses), "For we cannot do anything against the truth but only for the truth." If Twitter doesn't like it, their bad. They can shut me down, but they cannot shut me up.
