Andy McCarthy joins call to suspend Muslim immigration

Two and a half years ago, I suggested, in the wake of the Ft. Hood massacre at the hands of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, that it was time not only to suspend the practice of having Muslims in the military but time to suspend Muslim immigration altogether.

I was widely pilloried by the left for this position, in part because I was virtually a lone voice calling in the wilderness on this subject.

But immigration into the United States is a privilege, not a right, and should be reserved for those who embrace our values, our history, our traditions, our heroes and our Constitution and will commit themselves to full assimilation as non-hyphenated Americans.

It is simply impossible for a devout Muslim to do any of these things since we are a Christian nation by history, tradition and moral values. As Maj. Hasan told anyone who would listen, he was a "Muslim first and an American second." When push came to shove, he chose Islamic values over American and Christian ones.

So will all devout Muslims, and who can blame them? In fact, I've always suggested it's unfair to Muslims themselves to demand that they give up their most cherished beliefs and practices in order to live in the United States. It's far better to let them stay in Muslim countries where they can continue to murder rape victims, vaginally mutilate young girls, burn churches, and execute apostates to their heart's content without having to worry that such sacred Islamic practices will be frowned on by Christian neighbors and lawmakers.

Now former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy, the man who put behind bars the Muslims responsible for the original World Trade Center bombing in 1993, is joining the call for a suspension of Muslim immigration.

McCarthy is now a senior fellow at the National Review Institute and author of the recent bestseller, The Grand Jihad, which exposes the North American strategy of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is, in short, the extermination of Western civilization.

In the wake of the Koran burning debacle in Afghanistan, McCarthy says it's time to call a halt to Muslim immigration until certain conditions are met.

Says McCarthy, "If, according to the president, we need to apologize to Muslims because we must accept that they have such an innate, extraordinary ardor for their religion that barbaric reactions to trivial slights are inevitable, then they should not be invited to enter a civilized country. At the very least, our immigration laws should exclude entry from Muslim-majority countries unless and until those countries expressly repeal repressive sharia laws (e.g., the death penalty for apostates) and adopt American standards of non-discrimination against, tolerance of, and protection for religious minorities."

Hear, hear. Since it will be a cold day in Sheol before that happens, this is in effect a call to be done for good with Muslim immigration from sharia-honoring Muslim countries.

The chorus grows, as well it should. I have often said that eventually all of America will agree with me on suspending Muslim immigration, Muslim military service, and the building of mosques in America. The only question is whether the rest of America will agree with me before it's too late or after it's too late.
