Ground Zero mosque not about religious freedom

Just as he did with the Arizona immigration law when he said that Arizona's 1070 "provides for racial profiling," the Babbler in Chief has missed the target again regarding the ground zero mosque. "As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."

Our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable? Does that mean that he, his master, George Soros, and the liberal Progressives are ending their war on Christianity while promoting the Muslim religion in America? I don't think so. The hypocrisy and double standards of this administration are astounding.

I don't have to remind you of all that these people have done to ban all references to God and Christianity in government, on public property, and in any institution that accepts government funding. Yet the State Department is using our tax dollars to finance the Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf's trip to the Middle East where he will attempt to arrange for funding for his mosque. I'm sure he will have no trouble finding that funding in Saudi Arabia. So Obama's message really is: Islam good, Christianity bad.

Building a mosque in the shadow of where the World Trade Center once stood has absolutely nothing to do with religious freedom. The freedom of religion clause in the Constitution does not grant Muslims the right to build a mosque just anywhere they want to, anymore that it grants any religion a right to build a church anywhere they want to.

No one is denying Muslims the right to practice their "religion" (if you can call it that) by objecting to a ground zero mosque. The objection is to building an Islamic monument in the shadow of the 9-11 attacks in which nearly 3000 Americans were murdered by radical followers of Islam. Then to make things worse, groundbreaking ceremonies are planned for September 11th., on the anniversary of their attacks.

If Muslims had any consideration for Americans, they would understand that, and not insist on cramming their false religion in our faces at ground zero. This project shows the highest degree of disrespect for Americans equaled only by the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

What about zoning laws? Is not that area zoned for commercial business? How can a mosque and Islamic cultural center be considered a commercial enterprise? Who needs an Islamic cultural center in lower Manhattan anyway? Who would even want to enter such a place besides Muslims? Few Muslims even live in lower Manhattan and would have to travel across the bridges from Brooklyn just to get there.

Denying them a mosque in lower Manhattan in no way infringes on their religious freedom. A 13-story building with cultural and recreational centers including a swimming pool is not essential to the practice of one's religion. New York doesn't need their cultural center. We already know about their culture and have found it in serious conflict with American laws, values and practices. Do they intend for the women to go swimming in Niqabs and burqas?

Will the residents and working people in lower Manhattan have to hear the Islamic call to prayer 5 times a day blasting out all over the city from this proposed mosque?

It is being reported that the words "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest) will be boldly displayed on the structure — the very last words spoken by the 9-11 hijackers before crashing into the twin towers. This in-your-face insult to New Yorkers is nothing more than a monument to an Islamic conquest on the city of Manhattan and should not be tolerated.

Unfortunately, we currently have people running our government who would rather that our country be liked through weakness and appeasement than respected for our strength. This attitude will reduce America from a superpower to a third world country. But then that seems to be exactly what they want, doesn't it?

Can there be any doubt that if this mosque actually does get built, that there will be multiple attempts (if necessary) to blow the damn thing up? What goes around, comes around.
