Social injustice -- "guilty of the proven innocent"

As a former police officer I know there is one phrase in the Criminal Justice system that virtually everyone is familiar with — "Innocent until proven guilty." This is the critical foundation for any civilized society to fairly and honestly deal with citizens who have been charged with a crime, and you can see examples across the globe where this standard does not exist and tyranny, murder and chaos reign.

There is currently a case occurring in this country where a beautiful, 3 year old, innocent child is being denied a life-saving medical procedure because according to the child's mother the doctor said "She — is — not — eligible — because — of — her — quality — of — life — Because — of — her — mental — delays"

You can read the entire exchange from the mother here: http://www.wolfhirschhorn.org/2012/01/amelia/brick-walls/

The family was even going to find their own donor from their large family, but the denial for the procedure persisted! The mother questioned the doctor stating "So you mean to tell me that as a doctor, you are not recommending the transplant, and when her kidneys fail in six months to a year, you want me to let her die because she is mentally retarded? There is no other medical reason for her not to have this transplant other than she is MENTALLY RETARDED!" According to the mother the doctor responded "Yes. This is hard for me, you know."

This surreal encounter in the culture of death should bring an international outcry from all civilized societies of "SOCIAL INJUSTICE." What could be more unjust than "medical professionals" charged with ensuring health deeming an innocent child guilty of having an imperfect genetic make-up and then sentencing her to inevitable death? There have been cases where a convicted individual on death row has had their death sentence thrown out, and many times this is based on DNA genetic evidence. This is awesome technology when used to prove the innocence of a wrongly accused human being.

Today "medical personnel" are using DNA genetic evidence to convict an innocent human being of being guilty of imperfection and then sentencing them to death both prenatally and post-natal as we see in this very disturbing case. Currently 90%+ of beautiful, innocent children proven prenatally by DNA evidence to have Down syndrome are given a death sentence without any chance of appeal, pardon or escape. This is the ultimate "SOCIAL INJUSTICE," and I am still waiting for an outcry from the "civilized" world.

All of us need to look into the mirror and ask what our sentence will be if one day a culture of death rules us to be guilty of imperfection. "To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men." Abraham Lincoln
