I have been heavily criticized in the past for coining the term "Gay Gestapo" to describe the bullying tactics of the homosexual lobby. Thus I was heartened when lesbian activist and homosexual marriage supporter Tammy Bruce picked up the term in a column she wrote in the wake of Christian bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein being pummeled, harassed, fined and driven out of business by vitriolic and hate-filled homosexual activists.

The Kleins are facing a fine of $135,000 issued by some bureaucrat in Oregon for the crime of exercising their First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion.

Here's what Ms. Bruce wrote (emphasis mine):

"Under these rules, freedom of conscience is squashed under the jackboot of liberals, all in the Orwellian name of 'equality and fairness.' Here we are dealing with not just forcing someone to do something for you, but forcing them in the process to violate a sacrament of their faith as well ...

"If we are able to coerce someone, via the threat of lawsuit and personal destruction, to provide a service, how is that not slavery? If we insist that you must violate your faith specifically in that slavish action how is that not abject tyranny? ... Horribly, the gay civil rights movement has morphed into a Gay Gestapo. Its ranks will now do the punishing of those who dare to be different or dissent from the approved leftist dogma."

This is strong language, particularly when coming from someone immersed in the lesbian lifestyle. But even she can recognized Nazi-style tactics when she sees them.

Well, further support has come from a most improbable source, a homosexual baker by the name of Jesse Bartholomew. He is as appalled as Ms. Bruce at what his fellow homosexuals have done to the Kleins.

Here's what he had to say (emphasis mine):

"Hi guys, my name is Jesse and I bake wedding cakes for a living, and I cannot tell you how disgusted I am with my fellow gay and lesbian community – that they would stoop so low as to force someone to bake a cake for them who simply doesn't agree with them.

"And before you can go and blame me and say that they have to – no, they don't have to. They don't have to bake a cake for you.

"Are you stupid? That is your personal piece of your wedding...Why would you want to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a wedding cake and pay that money to someone who doesn't want to make the cake for you?

"There's no other bakers out there? It's plain and simple: you are bullying someone, you are forcing someone, you are being a Nazi and forcing someone to bake a d*** wedding cake for you when there are hundreds of other gays and lesbians that would gladly have your business. Shame on you."

In other words, it's not Christians living out their faith who are the intolerant bullies and bigots, it's homosexuals who insist on imposing their values on everyone and hammering anyone who will not conform. The truth is that homosexuals are not interested in marriage equality at all; they are interested only in homosexual supremacy. Their slogan: "Gay rights uber alles."

Bottom line: if a lesbian activist and a homosexual baker can recognize thuggery when they see it, maybe the rest of us ought to be able to see it too.
