Language: The people's vehicle

Something conveyed to me by an anthropologist just two days ago in respect of the power and efficacy of language, is possibly the keystone to my thoughts for this week. My anthropologist friend offered the following true account in response to my strongly held belief in the progressive power of the English and German languages.

I said that, with few exceptions, both languages powered world progress through the Industrial Revolution on to the present day. German happens to be my favored second language, and therefore should come as no surprise that a large smattering of thoughts and quotes spinning back through my column emanate from German and Austrian thinkers. I regard the German language and great German thinkers as my own personal treasure trove. To this my friend concorded, and added a further layer to those I had laid down.

She said that some time ago a move was made in African Universities to promote the use of indigenous language to replace English. At this an English Professor entered the fray, denying this as a working possibility. He stood up to present his argument through attempting to explain the nature of an amoeba in Swahili. Translated into English his efforts proved to be nonsensical. An amoeba, he said, was a "little, little, little, little, little ... animal" ! Small wonder those speaking only Swahili fail to reach Nobel Prize status, neither can they lay claim to a part in the Space Race, or the moon landing, etc, and etc.

A couple of weeks back I jumped out of the car and saw right in front of me what appeared to be a gleaming new Triumph Bonneville motorcycle, but on closer inspection I found that it was a fake rice-burning copy. On another occasion I thought I saw from a distance a Hummer, then soon discovered that yet again it was no more than an Eastern snap-crackle-n-pop fake. And even further back was a time when Volkswagen cars discovered that a company in China had begun to manufacture an automobile that, to all intents and purposes, was an exact copy of their own. And this I believe is generally the case throughout the East; that they learn by rote, then produce through plagiarism. There's a distinct difference between "inductive" and "productive" intelligence and knowledge.

China is not becoming the world's greatest producer through its own creative efforts, it's becoming this way through producing what we in the West have already created then falsely pass on for production, to the detriment of our very own needy workforce. Plagiarism comes in many forms for Picasso was once quoted as saying, "Mediocre artists copy. Great artists steal." But China goes a whole ways further, for they've even produced fake eggs ! And bad ones at that. Cases of poisoning are widespread.

I feel very privileged and most thankful to have been born into a family that spoke naturally in English and German, and found myself surrounded by a large and comprehensive book library, and the truth is that around 5 or 6 years of age I vowed to read every single one of them.

Looking back down the years I reckon that my own personal and fulfilled vow was one of the best decisions I've ever made, for we've come to a time for fallen mankind that the West's betrayal by its very elect depends on the degradation of progressive language. Many young people I listen to nowadays speak in vague, short, and clipped sentences. Discussing politics they seem incoherent, failing to grasp and present even the simplest of ideas. Coherent concepts needs must emanate from the power and veracity of strong clearly cut language, otherwise human beings fall back to become little more than drones.

Many years ago I began to discuss religion, politics, history, and other important matters, with Spanish people, yet, except for a few, the majority were either not interested or badly informed. Most of them said that they were not interested in politics, and equally, and therefore not surprisingly, could not name the President or his cabinet, whereas I could. But the one thing they did do each election time was vote, in complete ignorance of course, for to confess your disinterest in political matters means that your knowledge is zilch, and your vote is one of an idiot. That's why, I guess, Spain is governed and destroyed by idiots on behalf of idiots.

Spain's Federal debt has quadrupled compared to last year, and the government are still wasting twice what they receive in taxes. The European Commission, this very week, declared the Spanish Health Service to be the worst in Western Europe, and yet just 5 years back, as Aznar left office, it was one of the best. The IMF declared Spain to be the only Western so-called progressive nation to remain in deepening recession next year, with more than 20% unemployed. Small wonder therefore that President Zapatonto is a favored friend of Barry White House, the African AFRICAN President.

"GOOSE, n. A bird that supplies quills for writing. These, by some occult process of nature, are penetrated and suffused with various degrees of the bird's intellectual energies and emotional character, so that when inked and drawn mechanically across paper by a person called an "author," there results a very fair and accurate transcript of the fowl's thought and feeling. The difference in geese, as discovered by this ingenious method, is considerable: many are found to have only trivial and insignificant powers, but some are seen to be very great geese indeed."
— The Devil's Dictionary

Stupid as both Barry and Zappo indeed are, they at least, I'm sure, are aware that ....

"The people are destroyed by lack of knowledge." And the sole vehicle that conveys knowledge is the power and efficacy of a strong language base, yet a strong language base depends on a strong educational system, which then leads on to an understanding, not just of the world around us though also of the world of the spirit. And the combining of both leads to a seedbed of independent and strong-minded thinkers.

Politics is the only profession where complete idiotic failures get highest rewards, whereas in Industry they're forced to hit the bricks. That's why I personally regard 21st Century political leaders as the Progressive World's greatest enemy. While the UK's Gordon Brown anticipates defeat and a well-earned expulsion from the hallowed halls of English politics, he may well find himself promoted into an EU Executive position on the Board.

The Bible states that the penalty for murder is death, whereas the political world regards the penalty for murdering your nation as swift promotion to a higher level of Satanic interference !! About the only saving grace I feel about those worthless political leaders is the fact that my spiritual knowledge and behavior renders me worlds higher than they. That's why I took Herman Hesse's words to heart a long time ago, when he said;

"Solitude is independence. It had been my wish
and with the years I had attained it. It was cold.
Oh, cold enough! But it was also still, wonderfully
still and vast like the cold stillness of space
in which the stars revolve."

I began to live with that mindset because I understood the revolving stars and the space surrounding them to be forged by the power of words. God's perfect mathematical formula, that created the heavens and the earth, and life itself, was expedited through His mathematically perfect Word.

Resultantly I'm thankful that I did not receive the curse of becoming a politician, and therefore one of the world's supreme liars and twisters. They're so useless, in a positive sense, and so far from God, that the darkness surrounding them makes it necessary for them to feel around till they find a handhold; the judicial system; the fiscal system; and the so-called ecological system ... anything they can manipulate they'll use to slither that little bit higher on their chosen rung. But it's so dark for those punks that they don't see a sign with an arrow stating "This Way Up," and it's pointed in the opposite direction to the way they're going !
