Not only the Cherokee
By Susan North
Not only are the Cherokee being cheated by Elizabeth Warren, aka "Fauxcahontas," who is running for the Senate as a Democrat in the state of Massachusetts, but there are others, some of whom may soon be identified. Ms. Warren has claimed to be part Cherokee so as to qualify for benefits intended for minorities, but there is no evidence to confirm her minority heritage, and the Cherokee don't claim her. At least two people, both lawyers and possibly law professors (as yet unnamed), as well as numerous law students have also been deceived by this woman.
By listing herself in the 1986-1987 Association of American Law Schools directory as a Native American, Elizabeth Warren greatly enhanced her opportunities for employment with law schools. These schools were eager to satisfy Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) demands for more women and more minorities on their faculties (although, for the life of me, I cannot understand how being a woman or a minority changes and/or improves the teaching of law, or chemistry, or anything else for that matter). From 1986 to 1995, she claimed to be part Cherokee. Just one year (or less) after this first listing, she joined the University of Pennsylvania's Law School, and in 1992, became a visiting professor at Harvard Law School, which led to her permanent position, beginning in 1995.
Now faculty positions at big-name law schools command big bucks and are eagerly sought, for both salary and status, which often leads to publication offers, speaking engagements, and a variety of other lucrative opportunities. It is highly probable that a great many people applied for each of these positions. Who were they? Why do they remain silent? Elizabeth Warren wasn't the only person who applied to teach at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1987, neither was she the only person who applied for that particular position at Harvard. I have no access to the sources to identify these applicants, but perhaps someone reading this will know and come forth with this side of the story.
The two people referenced above were defrauded because, all things being equal, her being chosen because of her minority status, which is false, gave her an unfair advantage. A woman and/or real minority who was denied the job so Elizabeth Warren could have it was cheated. A man, minority or not, was discounted if he was denied the position in favor of Elizabeth Warren. She was defrauding them even if the other applicants were also cheats.
Although in fact, the real cheat in all of this may be the law schools. Why are these universities hiring swindlers? And at a law school, no less? It is not only that the other job applicants have been betrayed; a woman who is a fraud is cheating all the students. While not excusable, if she were teaching, say, art history, one could say that she might be a little hazy on the law about these things — but we are talking about a LAW professor!
And there were others who were cheated by Fauxcahontas. In just two years, 2009 and 2010, Warren was recognized by the Boston Globe as the "Bostonian of the Year"; honored by the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts with the "Lelia J. Robinson Award"; named among Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World" (2009 and 2010); and repeatedly named by the National Law Journal one of the "Fifty Most Influential Women Attorneys in America." Does anyone really believe she would have been thus feted if she were NOT teaching at a prestigious university? No doubt these organizations would have chosen some other reprehensible individual for these tributes, but they might at least have been honest about who they are — unlike Fauxcahontas.
Over the past few weeks, Michael Patrick Leahy at www.Breitbart.com has done an excellent job of exposing Elizabeth Warren as a fraud. Now he reports that a group of 150 REAL Cherokee have a new blog http://cherokeesdemandtruth-elizabethwarren.blogspot.com/ , and the name says it all.
The sad truth is that Elizabeth Warren isn't even a good liar. If she were, she would not have claimed a connection with the Cherokee. Princess Heap Big Lies would have chosen some tribe for which there are no records, some tribe that is not as well organized or as savvy as the Cherokee who aren't buying into this. Breitbart, Michael Patrick Leahy, and the Cherokee are to be congratulated on the great job they are doing to expose this swindler. This may be politically incorrect, but I'm glad that they are after her scalp, and I sure hope that Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) will do the same.
