When I was a new teacher in Charleston, Missouri in 1965, my roommate was a man from New Jersey, who had a diversity of personal interests.

An experienced teacher, who later became a Catholic priest, Ernie loved opera, spelunking, and country and western music.

I knew absolutely nothing about all three.

His favorite Country and Western singer was Hank Williams. Ernie had just turned 29, the exact age when Williams died in the backseat of his automobile, apparently from an overdose of drugs.

Williams' most memorable song was Your Cheating Heart.

What a fitting tribute this irony pays to the recent controversy that has embroiled his son, Hank Jr.

One can easily argue, given President Obama's penchant for mendacity that Hank Jr's father, somehow knew that his son would encounter, another "cheating heart in his lifetime.

Just what did Hank Jr. really do? And why were so many people offended?

By current cultural standards, Adolph Hitler was a repulsive ogre, representative only of conservatives.

Democratic politicians think nothing of playing the Nazi card, when detailing the genocidal tenancies of virtually all Republicans.

Was Hitler really a conservative? Maybe in a way.

He was trying to restore Germany to its once feared position in the world but that is far as the analogy runs.

Hitler was first and foremost, not a right-winger. Nazism stands for National Socialist Party and it was an outgrowth of the Workers Party of post World War I Germany.

Since its major threat came from the Communists both in and out of Germany, this was more of an internecine battle than it was of one between diametrically opposed ideologies.

Nazism and Communism are spun from the same whole cloth. The Russians were internationalists while the Nazis wanted to firm up their socialist base before conquering the world.

So if it is true that President Obama has a socialist pedigree, perhaps, Williams Junior was not far off the mark.

According to left-wing ideologies, individuals exist for the benefit of the state, not the reverse.

They are fungible and can be moved around the political chessboard at will and without their consent, according to socialist teachings.

Is Obama a Democrat? I think not. He wines and cries when he doesn't get his way and he has pulled more end runs around the Constitution with his czars, EPA directives, Executive orders and Health Care subterfuge where Secretary Katherine Sebelius can circumvent Congress and get her funding directly from the Federal Reserve.

This not Democracy but a very tyrannical form of socialism.

Of course Obama has not killed any Jews. He is not their favorite leader but at least his Arab favoritism has not hurt them yet.

But he has never met an abortion law he didn't want to expand. An unwanted baby is a punishment to the carrying mother and he is going to make certain that all women are protected from that. The count is 50 million and climbing since 1973.

That sounds like a fetal genocide to me.

Most people think Hitler started killing Jews immediately. No, the first group that felt his terminative power was the unwanted human beings — the infirmed, the mentally ill, the disabled and the elderly.

All of these useless eaters were summarily terminated in the first act of Hitler's culture of death, the infamous T-4 program that operated out of its office at #4 Tiergarten Strasse in Berlin.

Several thousands people who were of no further use to their country and were living lives that were unworthy of life — at least according to their leaders — were euthanized.

Similarly, as America's chief in charge of our culture of death, President Obama forced fed the country a mammoth Health Care Bill that was passed with but few any of the legislators even having read the bill.

Sarah Palin noticed that for people on Medicare there were mandatory periodic reviews where they had to appear before a board, which would see if they were worthy of continued treatment. Independent counselors would hold judgment on the future care of the elderly.

Sating the obvious, Palin called these death panels, much to the chagrin of the mainstream media.

Later when the truth of her accusation became apparent, these panels were discarded but for how long?

President Obama in his desperate attempt to balance the budget on this budget-busting entitlement, promised to cut $500 billion from Medicare for the elderly.

Then his henchmen had the temerity to attack Republican leaders who talked about addressing the enormous costs of elderly health care with reforms that would privatize some of their coverage.

But what would denying a half a trillion from doctors mean for the elderly?

Denied health care — that's what.

And what about their doctors, who have been short-changed by Medicare for many years? Will they continue to see Medicare patients?

Probably not unless they are of the saintly kind who independently wealthy and only do medicine as a charitable hobby.

So the elderly will just have to suffer and die or they could take a pill as Senator Obama glibly told a concerned granddaughter during the presidential debates, who wanted her 96-year-old granny to have the open-heart surgery she needed.

Just take a pill? What — cyanide?

Well maybe Obama will not be goose-stepping down Constitution Ave but would it be far-fetched to call his care law the 1660 Program?

So then was the ESPN network justified in separating themselves from Williams' Junior?

Well it's a free country — in some places — they can have any singer they want — unless he improperly analogizes our feckless president.

Their actions, in the face of the truth of his analogy, makes them look like moral cowards and a little light in the intellectual department.

I don't know about you but I and my rowdy friends are ready for a little more Country and Western music.
