Obama's March visit to Israel -- another opportunity for Muslim violence

In an earlier article I wrote and published in Family Security Matters, Palestinian Arab aggression will never end, I penned the following as the campaign by the Obama Administration and the European Union to oust Libya's Muammar Gadhafi was underway:

"Along with all the European heads of state who gleefully joined in the lust for Libyan oil that masked their hollow claims of bringing democracy to Libya, Clinton and Obama have unleashed a Muslim Pandora's Box, which will create in the Maghreb (North Africa) an Islamist, Jihadist and Sharia compliant wave that will eventually engulf Tunisia and Algeria. It will extend west to Mauritania and its loathsome tentacles will then reach south beyond the Sahel and into equatorial Africa.

"Like Bill Clinton's destruction of the Serbs, which allowed the ancient Serbian heartland of Kosovo to become a Muslim beach-head in the Balkans, so too Hillary's and Obama's misguided policies – under the guise of an Arab Spring – have plunged the world into an endless and perilous cycle of violence in which untold horrors will plague the entire globe.

"The Islamic tide is rising. With every foreign policy misstep by the Obama Administration and the grotesque mishandling of her term as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are emboldening the Islamists in their aim of a creating a worldwide Caliphate."

I wish my predictions had been proven false. Alas, they were not and we have now been forced to witness the outrage at Benghazi, the murder of our ambassador along with three other Americans, and the attendant disgraceful cover up by both the White House and the State Department. As if that was not bad enough, we also witnessed a massive Islamist attack on an oil refinery in Algeria and an Al Qaida attempt to take over Mali in the Sahel region of north Africa.

Secretary Clinton has now retired and is planning a possible run for president in 2016, that is unless President Obama can maneuver a third term for himself. Secretary of State Kerry will no doubt continue the foolishness inherent in Foggy Bottom's approach to an ever more perilous world; an approach, which in line with President Obama's policies, have led to the alienation of our most trusted and loyal allies and a foreign policy that at best is in tatters.

Nowhere has this political ineptitude been more glaring than in the relentless obsession by the White House and State Department in condemning what are called Israeli "settlements." The White House and State Department go as far as to denounce the construction of homes within the city limits of Israel's capital city, Jerusalem, as "impediments to the peace process." But strangely Palestinian Arab terror and crimes against Israeli civilians, the real impediment to peace, are cynically ignored.

Jerusalem, north, south, east and west is Israel's capital. It was her capital city 3,000 years ago under King David – millennia before the likes of Clinton, Obama, Kerry, et al, came to power.

Judea and Samaria is the biblical, ancestral and aboriginal heartland of the Jewish people going back to the time of Joshua's entry into the Promised Land. Before that, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Jewish patriarchs, lived in the land almost 4,000 years ago and are buried in Hebron, Judea; one of Judaism's four holy cities. But the world prefers to describe this biblical territory by its Jordanian Arab name, which lasted from 1948 to 1967 – a mere 19 years from the time the Jordanians illegally occupied until it was liberated by Israel in its defensive Six Day War. And by the way, it is less than 40 miles in width at its widest distance.

Jews have always lived in this tiny sliver of land in whatever numbers they could maintain and the hills and valleys of Judea and Samaria are dotted with Judaism's shrines, holy places, villages and ancient cities from time immemorial. The very ground embraces its Jewish heritage and patrimony. Ask the archaeologists. Read the Bible.

Yet President Obama is due to visit Israel in late March and his presence will be predictably greeted with violence, not by Israel or its people but engineered by Mahmoud Abbas and his apparatchiks in the so-called Palestinian Authority. Again, it will be a cynical Arab ploy, using all forms of murder and rioting, to put pressure upon Israel by the Muslim PA, and a predictable abrogation of any pretense of willingness by the Arabs to make peace with the Jewish state. Such is the tragedy of ever attaining a true peace by a non-Muslim state with an Islamic entity.

So, in the face of the villainous campaign to delegitimize and demonize the embattled Jewish state by the Arab League, the Muslim world, the Left and the execrable international and national media – with few honorable exceptions – Israel will have to endure yet another storm of falsehoods by deceitful and negative press along with the loss of more civilian Jewish lives.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have already had to face the usual mobs of rioting Arabs, deliberately organized by the Palestinian Authority. And as if to emphasize the hateful message already coming out of the PA, Islamic leaders, according to AFP reports, have stressed that President Obama must not visit the Al Aqsa mosque in any way that might compromise what they call "Muslim sovereignty."

These Islamic religious leaders, known as the Waqf, are committing a grievous crime against history. The mosque is built upon the ancient Jewish Temples, and the Muslim occupiers of the Temple Mount have removed every sign of its ancient Jewish presence at the Jewish holy site. At the entrance to the Temple Mount, a Waqf sign says, "The Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyard and everything in it is Islamic property." Meanwhile the Waqf consistently destroys Jewish antiquities on the Temple Mount.

Obama's visit to this sensitive site will, alas, be an endorsement of Muslim intolerance and Islamic triumphalism. It is inconceivable that he will either speak out at the desecration of both Jewish and Christian antiquities or demand a cessation of Palestinian violence.

Perhaps like my earlier prediction about Libya and North Africa, my hope is that it will be proven false. But I'm not holding my breath.
