Bill Clinton’s campaign strategist James Carville was the first to use the expression “It’s the economy, stupid,” which helped Clinton gain success in 1992.
Most Americans believed it then and, unfortunately, they still believe it today. Many of the polls reveal that what’s at the top of our concerns for the country is the economy, inflation, the price of gasoline, war, and education.
But in God’s economy, those concerns would all be last on the list, and our moral behavior would rest high on the top of the list – as number one.
While there are a grand total of 68 curses pronounced in scripture, they are not the silly spells of the local witch. They’re powerful promises of God to intervene in the affairs of men, including nations and the entire world when needed.
The curses given in Deuteronomy 28 alone include sickness, mental problems, attack from our enemies, the failure of crops, and much more.
The rise and fall of kingdoms and nations rest on these severe warnings.
Most Americans today do not take these warnings seriously. The idea that God is an interventional being who has expectations of us is not in their view. To them, God seems to be indifferent, aloof, and too far away to bother with any but the greatest problems of mankind.
Christ said that the Father knows when a sparrow falls to its death somewhere deep in the woods – yet too many of us assume He knows or cares nothing about our problems, sins, culture, and deep plunge into immorality and perversion.
Prophecy and prophetic conditions help to explain – but the fix is up to us
The Bible uses the term “latter times” as it refers to worldwide changes that affect the culture, ideologies, politics, and just about every major part of everyday life. As in the famous boiling frog apologue, it seems that the changes come a little at a time, almost imperceptibly to set themselves into the culture almost stealthily and unnoticed.
But the result is always the same – death and destruction.
This is what the Bible calls the doctrine of devils. Don’t be confused by the apparently religious terminology: the word doctrine simply means teaching.
Everything we teach our children is, at the lowest common denominator, a doctrine. How much of that doctrine came from the minds of hateful devils who, unlike Divinity, have no love at all for mankind?
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” (1 Tim. 4:1)
Examples of the incognito infusion of the doctrines of devils is popping up everywhere. Like the Paul Baird Middle School in Massachusetts where teachers told students not to tell parents about their transitions and plans to reset their own gender.
Next, we see the members of Fox’s “Outnumbered” cast sitting publicly on TV and debating it, and commentator Lisa Kennedy Montgomery declaring that she is an ally and a full supporter of all things LGBTQ.
The sly and once mighty Fox News has been nobbled by a devil with a doctrine that can ruin – and is daily ruining – a life for some child, or leading them to suicide.
It seems apropos, for a news outlet that recently announced its plan to engage transitioned Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner as an active contributor.
We no longer ask how or when did it happen that the culture has got devils coaxing it down the primrose path to the last days.
Why is our “morality” missing from any list of issues?
Go to any poll from Heritage to Quinnipiac and the lists of America’s greatest concerns over the future all fail to contain a deep concern with our failing morality.
The lists usually contain these eight concerns in varying order of importance:
- Economy
- Immigration
- War in Ukraine
- Health Care
- Food and Fuel Shortages
- Education
- Environment
- Politics
In almost every list, the economy is always at the top.
Morality is missing because we have believed unreliable, demonic whispers in our hungry little ears, in a full last day’s push to change us from the United States of America to the –United Sex of America.
The path to this new nation begins with our children.
What could go wrong?
In the early sixties, we celebrated the “pill” – it was the way to avoid unwanted children.
In 1973, the Supreme Court decided that to avoid a few botched DIY abortions, it would allow anybody and everybody to dump those little unwanted rascals into sterile white buckets and medical waste receptacles.
Now in 2022, we have become a threat to any child who might seem unsure about whacking a baseball versus dressing a pretty dolly. The supposed answer – let 'em switch.
How long will God endure the offering up of our own children to the master of demons?
The reason morality is missing from the list is because we are using the wrong list.
Yes, sin brings a curse, but God has another list – the list of blessings.
In only two simple verses of scripture, the over 50 curses related to sinning are canceled. Since the age of grace has come and prevailed for 2000 years, now it is easier than ever to discover how the mercy and full blessings of God can be attained.
Those blessings include health, prosperity, success in economics and commerce, protection from our enemies, and much more.
The two verses are these:
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.” (Dt. 28: 1-2)
Let’s switch our list – and live! And let our children live – as children
God doesn’t give advice, make suggestions, or sit around waiting for us to believe what He has said.
God gives directions, commands, blessings and curses – but He never wastes time.
He will give time to anyone who needs it, but there will come a day when we will be cut off.
“He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” (Pr. 29:1)
He will warn one man or an entire nation.
“At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.” (Jer 18:7-10)
The only thing greater than the gross wickedness of destroying our own children is the naivete in which we prance along calling it a "woke" issue or a "transphobic" problem.
America has been warned!
Back to the list of eight concerns
The great concerns showing up in the polls are things that have already begun to trouble almost all Americans to some degree. These are the beginnings of God’s intervention for the part we have already chosen to ignore.
The proof of this is contained in the simplest of all biblical admonitions and spoken by the Son of the Living God – to wit:
“For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” (Mt. 7:2)
