Rep Eleanor Holmes Norton: "Benghazi a corpse" -- upgrading from insulting to abusive

Before quoting what democrats have been saying about the new emails uncovered on Benghazi and how they show a cover up of the original spin from the White house and down, we should pause to consider that we are talking about the horrible deaths of four U.S. citizens whose lives were wasted in a distant land as they served their country.

In deference and in full respect to their memory and their grieving families let's remember that this was not just another incident in a foreign setting like Nigeria or Kenya where after bands of marauding Muslim extremists leave a village or hamlet, bodies are left strewn out in the streets for the whole world to see. These are our countrymen and brothers, they are our neighbors and friends – they are citizens of our republic.

Not offering a national eulogy – but it was a sacrifice to be respected

These four were representatives and defenders of our nation who have deep family ties and histories that connect to hundreds if not thousands of other citizens in this nation. I don't propose a national eulogy for them, but I will not mention the names of those who now make light of their sacrifice before reminding my readers of who they, the only heroes to come out of this dark moment in our history, actually were.

The four who gave their lives in service to our country were, U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, information management officer Sean Smith and two former Navy Seals Mr. Glen Doherty and Mr. Tyrone Woods.

Most of us in this nation only want to thank them for their service to our nation and we can only apologize to their memory for those who are obfuscating, covering up and outright fleeing from the responsibility of accounting for their untimely and gruesome deaths.

What has time got to do with it?

In a Fox News video of the Susan Rice talking points posted on legalinsurrection.com, May 2, 2014 White House spokesperson Tommy Vieter is heard telling Bret Baier that after all, the event was two years gone so why fuss.

Vieter said, "Dude, this was like two years ago."

Here's a clue Mr. Vieter – you live in a nation where murder is a crime without an expiration date. The statute of limitations on murders does not exist and to the best legal minds of the day that would include the murder of our citizens abroad as well as at home.

The murders of these four people is a crime, but any aid or complicity in these murders makes someone an accessory and any cover up of these murders constitutes an obstruction of justice. The time needed to bring all of these factors to light has absolutely nothing to do with our laws and must be pursued at length and at all costs.

Time has nothing at all to do with it!

Pelosi remarks: Ghastly!

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi shocked the nation at her weekly press conference on Thursday morning May1, 2014 by saying, "I haven't seen it, but I will say this again – diversion, subterfuge – Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. Why aren't we talking about something else?"

In fact until answers are fully proffered for the death of the four aforementioned "heroes' of Benghazi we should not be talking about anything else.

One internet site reported that it has cost the taxpayers almost three million dollars for Barack Obama's last two golf games. Is this what Nancy Pelosi thinks would make better talking points? It seems that nothing is coming out of the Capitol Hill dog and pony show that seems worth reporting, but whatever the cowardly mainstream media may choose to spin is only adding insult to injury as long as Benghazi is buried on the back page.

From Ghastly to Ghoulish: Enter D.C. Rep Eleanor Holmes Norton

Non-voting delegate to the House of Representatives Eleanor Norton brought the ghastly up to the level of ghoulish. While three Republican Senators are now asking where the President actually was on the night of the Benghazi massacre others are now asking where respect and common decency was the day Eleanor Norton declared that "Benghazi is a corpse" and should be put to rest forever.

Born in 1937, Eleanor Norton, now approaching 80, may be suffering from a full cognizance problem that has left her deft with regard to the fine line between denotations and connotations of words, but the use of the word "corpse" has to go down as one of the most insensitive and reckless heard on the media at any time in recent history.

Benghazi is not a corpse, but it has produced four corpses that will not enter into any semblance of rest until the all of the facts about them is fully made known. The wasting of American lives is never a dead issue except in the minds of those who treasure power, status and privilege more than the lives of the citizens they are sworn to honestly represent and protect.

No eulogy but a fair warning

The late Rev R. G. Lee is widely known for the sermon still circulating today entitled "Pay-day Someday." Lee points out that since all things eventually come to an end, that whether or not you believe in final judgments – the day for it – is still on schedule.

God has promised that all things will come to light in that day and if anything can be known about the American psyche it is that we want someone to account for the death of our citizens – we too have a pay-day someday mentality that springs from our sense of decency, justice and our deep respect for our departed soldiers and public servants.

We will get to the bottom of the Benghazi event because we are driven by the respect for our own, not because we don't like the President or the democrats or the liberals – that kind of motive would not endure.

"For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad." Luke 8: 17
