From Russia with love - - wise up, America!
By Michael Bresciani
On Jan 26, 2013 Associated Press writer Mike Stobbe popped a piece on the public, strongly suggesting that we should shame the obese into losing weight. The story was carried by Fox and a few MSM outlets, and some have made jokes about the possibility that Mayor Bloomberg could head the effort to shame the fatties, to supplement his war on 16oz soft drinks.
Breitbart journalist, John Nolte, responded with a scathing rebuke of the AP piece and said, "Under no circumstance would these insufferable elites ever look to "pretty up" society through the "shaming" of drug addicts, alcoholics, sexual degenerates, lazy welfare leeches, or any others who loot the treasury and spread much more human misery than nicotine and ice cream. And anyone who suggested such a thing would immediately be branded a bully by the very same elites now testing the waters to bully-by-shame the overweight."
Wikipedia has outdone all dictionary def's with this description of shame, excerpted from Helen B. Lewis, Shame and guilt in neurosis, published by International University Press.
"Shame is, variously, an affect, emotion, cognition, state, or condition. The roots of the word shame are thought to derive from an older word meaning "to cover"; as such, covering oneself, literally or figuratively, is a natural expression of shame."
This writer's definition of shame in America is far more succinct, I call it – "almost gone."
While shame is sparse, Americans still have a lot of nerve. With Mr. Obama sanctioning everything gay including gay marriages the rest of the world is not buying our indulgence. Even with the high priest of prurient, Dan Savage, skip jumping across the nation's campuses with his message of anything goes in America; the rest of the world could care less.
In his 2013 second inaugural speech Mr. Obama declared that, "we must not mistake absolutism for principle." Obama's speech writer probably thought this unique bit of phraseology would serve as a powerful rhetorical tool to make the presidents new ideas look good to moderns, but in fact, it is a long shot that missed the mark by a mile.
According to almost any worthy philosophy of man, religious precept or bible passage there is no principle to be found at all, without absolutes. Swimming around in gray lukewarm soup may seem like the stuff for today, but Christ saw this day coming when he said:
"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Rev 3: 15, 16)
Mr. Obama may not be one of those Americans that "cling to their bibles," but perhaps he might want to crack one open from time to time to help his speech writers from sounding absolutist about non-absolutes.
The French Resistance is Still Active
Over 300,000 rallied against same sex marriage in Paris. French President Francois Hollande thought he had a green light for everything gay, but the French it seems, have had quite enough weird, among both Catholic and non-religious alike. It was the largest demonstration in decades and it is something Americans should take note of instead of making photo journals and news-hype on all the gay pride parades taking place in U.S. cities.
In fact same sex marriages are recognized as completely legal in only eleven countries around the world. America may be a world leader, but in this case, we are falling far behind. For many of us, we can only be thankful. We can hope America finds the shame for the very bad idea of same sex marriages before it starts to shame people for being overweight. We would be in danger of becoming the world leader in unbridled hypocrisy; if we are not already.
Russians – "All in one mind"
Much beloved by the Irish folksingers is a song entitled "War Like Lads of Russia." The traditional arrangement of the song has a curious line which describes the way the Russians thought, and is given as the reason they were able to deter the onslaught of Bonaparte's invading armies.
"Those warlike lads of Russia they fought all in one mind – Made Bonaparte to run and leave his troops behind"
The strong resurgence of the Russian Orthodox church since the Berlin wall came down is thought to be responsible in part for the Russian refusal to get swept up in the worldwide gay agenda, but the general consensus of the Russian's is that they want no part of the western decline, American style.
No one applied for a gay marriage license in Moscow in 2012 and in St. Petersburg they are considering a huge fine for any public display of homosexuality including kissing in public. Russia says they do not want their children to be exposed to the gay agenda which they see as closely connected to pedophilia and other dangerous practices.
Americans and of course some Europeans are charging Russia with a return to Medieval thinking, but others believe that promoting the gay life pushes civilization much further back in history, to the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. How well did that work out?
Since the influence of the Orthodox Church and the Bible have been seriously curtailed for a full generation it is hard to blame the homophobic sentiment of the Russian people on these elements alone.
Perhaps it isn't just an ancient mandate against perverted behaviors that is the impetus for the anti-gay sentiments of the Russians, but there is a far simpler answer. Russians can see what is going on in America, the gay parades where children are exposed to perversions and nudity and the endless debate and anger that the gays are now showing anyone who refuses to buckle under their extravagant claims that, after all, they were born that way.
The Prophetic Element
That Russians allowed the wall to fall and the old Soviet establishment only after a generational long experiment with an ideological construct that was doomed from the start. This says at least one thing about them – they don't easily fold to outside pressure. They seem to come to their own realizations quite apart from the influences of the rest of the world.
Like most nations they will not have time to wake up out of their next, well prophesied, mistake. Ezekiel's prophecies tell of the time when Russia will help Muslim countries to invade Israel in one final attempt to wipe that tiny nation off the map. It will miserably fail and it is only a short time after that when many of the rest of last day's prophecies will be completely fulfilled – not a good time for any nation.
Don't Wait for God to Apologize
America seems to have accepted every tenet of the new penchant for political correctness, tolerance and diversity. An entire nation now seems bent on becoming a sensitivity training ground for the plebes of modern thinking, regardless of how far removed from reality they may be.
The several passages of the Bible that clearly state that God condemns the practice of homosexuality cannot be hidden but only refuted. The refutation is weak at best because the only argument is based on a modern frame of thinking. One is to say, God did not say anything about gays, but it is far too late for that. The other is to conclude that he didn't mean what he said.
"God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?" (Nu 23: 19 NIV)
Sentimentality Is Not Real Love
If truth without love is cruelty and love without truth is sentimentality, then where does justice fall in the scheme of God's demands on mankind? In fact just when most of the world has sufficiently dismissed the Bible and fairly much silenced the Christians is when the fulfillment of all prophecy will take place. The world's assurance that the Bible and its adherents were always wrong will suddenly reverse. In that great awakening, the world will see they were universally mistaken. That is called the second coming of Christ. You can count on it.
God's love will persist to the last minute of time. The call to repentance and the invitation to join the blood washed band of the redeemed will be offered to the last moment in time. After that justice will be meted out for all of our perversions and sins, which will include the practice of homosexuality. The blasphemous notion that God made gays that way, will count for nothing and all the sins and the justifications for them will be exposed.
No Queen James version of the bible or modern twisting of scripture will have any chance of changing these much dreaded words.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Mt 7: 21–23)
Shame may be almost non-existent in America today, but it will soon make a resurgence that for many, will last for all eternity. In the interim what America has decided is not shameful is considered nothing but shame by our old enemy – is the lesson here, all too obvious?
According to writer Robert Bridge the lesson is easy. One line from his article published on Russia's RT website entitled "How the Russian soul can save the American Empire" seems to say it all.
"The problem with America (potentially) "going to Hell" is that this earth-straddling superpower carries enough economic, political and social baggage to drag the rest of humanity to Dante's depths with it."
