Democrats paint economic disaster as a benefit?

A common strategy among shrewd salesman is to paint any liabilities of their product as strengths. And the more unethical the salesman, the more outlandish the efforts to convince unwary customers that any suspicions that they might have are baseless. As Washington continues to descend into the depths of charlatans and swindlers, this pattern becomes increasingly evident among liberal Democrats and their media parakeets.

Still, the political acrobatics they have employed in the wake of the disastrous rebuff of Obamacare in a report released last week by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), exceed anything previously imaginable. And by such actions, they are revealing the enormity of public backlash to the liberal agenda, and how truly desperate their situation has become. Unless they can choreograph a major song and dance routine by which to thoroughly fool the voters, they may be in for a more severe drubbing in this year's congressional mid-term elections than they received in 2010. Behind the false smiles and their empty facade of confidence is a rising panic. Clearly, they fear the worst.

According to the latest appraisal from the CBO, Obamacare can be expected to continue severely dragging the economy down for several years. But while that news comes as no surprise to those who understand the inherent flaws of collectivism, many Americans were gullible enough to believe Obamacare would indeed be the panacea on every possible front as it was promised to be. Of course that guarantee proved no more genuine than Barack Obama's numerous assurances that people could ostensibly keep their doctors and insurance plans, all of which have since been revealed as an intentionally deceptive scheme to fend off political opposition.

In the first several years after its passage, the liberal propagandists attempted to make the case that Obamacare, and the Obama fiscal agenda as a whole, would bolster the nation's economic fortunes beyond anything previously known. Yet as time passed, and the nation failed to extricate itself from the economic downturn that has ultimately defined Obama's time in office, those attempting to put a rosy face on the dismal state of the economy have been forced to attempt ever more devious and creative ploys. In the process, they increasingly reveal their consuming devotion to the leftist philosophy and their total contempt for the American people, who are being spoon-fed everything but the truth while they suffer its harmful effects.

The latest ruse is for Democrats to make inane assertions that the dismal job numbers actually reflect "freedom" for Americans! But this "freedom" is not a matter of having the opportunity and resources to pursue one's dreams and aspirations. Rather, it is "freedom" to stay home, since no worthwhile jobs are to be found. It is "freedom" not to flourish but to subsist, with the predictable enabling complicity of the nanny state, of course. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA), now derisively characterizes meaningful employment as being "job locked." Congressman Keith Ellison (D.-MN) claims that Americans spend too much time on the job, and will therefore benefit if they are forced from the workplace. Spouting such insanity, the left is actually trying to make the case that the economic disaster of Obamacare is a good thing.

Furthermore, the "talking points" mode of Democrat propagandizing, in which every available media outlet is blitzed with the same message, reveals how essential the proliferation of this outright lie is to the liberal agenda. The results of liberalism are no better under Obama than they have ever been under any left-leaning administration. In fact, the intensity of Obama's leftist onslaught has been much greater than any of his predecessors, and its repercussions far more severe and long-lasting. So the necessity to cover his tracks with mythical appraisals of the ensuing liberal utopia is more crucial to continuing the ruse.

It is no wonder that the left has such venom for talk-radio, Fox News, and ultimately, the First Amendment of the Constitution. Free speech, exercised by committed citizens outside of the "mainstream" media, is the means by which the ugly realities of Obamacare and its statist/collectivist foundations are being exposed to the American people. Were it not for these alternative sources of information, the nightly news would be free and unfettered to continue assuring the nation that medical socialism is indeed a wonderful thing that should be implemented with all haste.

While it is sad that Obamacare ever happened in America, the steadily growing resistance to it stands as evidence that the heinous encroachment of liberalism is not invulnerable to opposition from an informed public. Thus, efforts to discredit its fraudulent premises must be continued, and even increased. In light of the CBO report, the nation's faltering economy and the unacceptable employment numbers need to be relentlessly tagged as the "Obamacare Economy." Admittedly, many other factors resulting from Obama administration policy have inflicted their own significant damage to the nation's economic condition, such as the anti-energy policies of the Environmental Protection Agency, and the burdensome regulations of a bloated and self-serving government. However, the underlying causes are inextricably linked.

By this latest series of lies, the Democrats hope the irredeemably stupid across this land will actually be persuaded that they are better off as unemployable and directionless wards of the state who can only expect a life of meager subsistence. And if their numbers are sufficiently large, and they can be transported en masse to the polling places come November, perhaps Democrats may be spared the strident retribution of Americans who hope to turn back the tide of socialism and cultural decay which threaten to overwhelm their country.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, many Americans remain aware that their own futures, and that of their children, are reliant on a free and productive people who invest the toil and effort to build their dreams. It is among this segment of the nation's population that the real opportunity for restoration of the American ideal, and the American vision reside. And among such people, this latest cadre of Democrat lies are as obscene and repulsive as everything they have previously offered. Real America is not about to sacrifice its heritage of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" on the destitute altar of the nanny state.
