Last week, former CIA Director James Woolsey headlined a forum at the National Press Club in Washington, sponsored by Freedom Watch and the Foundation for Democracy in Iran.

Other speakers included Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Freedom Watch founder and president Larry Klayman, and former Reagan UN ambassador Alan Keyes.

A featured guest was former CIA spy and Iranian Revolutionary Guard officer Reza Kahlili, who appeared wearing a surgical mask and speaking through a voice modulator.

The forum asked, "National security, freedom, and Iran — is it time for U.S. and Western intervention?"

Summing up speakers' views, event organizer Klayman said, "The policy of the Obama administration and the European Union has simply not worked. We are calling on the new Congress to push the administration and the European Union to pursue a more rational approach toward Iran — toward removing the regime."

Klayman added, "No other foreign policy forum has been bold enough to speak the truth: the Islamic regime of fraudulently-elected President Ahmadinejad must be removed now, before it is too late."

"Appeasement has not worked, and as the Islamic Regime introduces nuclear weapons into the Middle East, threatening world peace, and totally crushing the Iranian freedom movement, the United States and the West must act," he said.
