NATIONAL REVIEW The Pentagon said Wednesday that it has enough funding to build 256 more miles of border wall in the near future, and will start construction at a rate of about a half mile a day over the next six months. "We now have on contract sufficient funds to build about 256 miles of barrier," Acting Secretary of Defense Pat Shanahan said in testimony to the Senate Defense Appropriations subcommittee. "How you will see this materialize in the next six months is that about 63 additional new miles of wall will come online, so about a half a mile a day will be produced."... (more)

SCOTT RASMUSSEN Fifty-seven percent (57%) of Democrats believe that, in his relations with the Russian government, President Trump is guilty of treason. A ScottRasmussen.com national survey found that just 14% of those in Nancy Pelosi's party disagree while 29% are not sure. Republicans reject the notion that the president is guilty of treason by an 82% to 7% margin. FOX NEWS Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed the "heartbeat" bill into law Tuesday morning. Kemp kept his campaign promise in signing the bill, HB 481, technically called the "Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act," which will prohibit abortions in the state after a heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. The law allows exceptions in the case of rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is in danger.... (more)

PHILIP KLEIN The U.S. unemployment rate has gotten so low, that most Americans were not alive the last time it was at this level. On Friday, the Department of Labor reported that the unemployment rate dipped to 3.6% in April, which was the lowest level since December 1969.
