BRYAN FISCHER — Most people have no idea where the theory of evolution came from. They think scientists made discoveries that led them to doubt the Bible's view of origins. But it was the other way round. Men first began to doubt and then dismiss the Bible in the early part of the 19th century. So they needed to find some other explanation for, well, everything. And presto-change-o, Darwin popped out his theory of natural selection in 1859.... (more)

PETER LEMISKA — The idea of Medicare for all, as proposed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Kamala Harris, and many others on the left, sounds amazing. They're a little vague on details, but as I understand it, everyone on U.S. soil, whether they pay into the system or not, would be entitled to free quality healthcare from birth until death. That would include rich and poor, healthy and infirm, young and old, citizen and non-citizen alike. There would be no exemptions, no carveouts, like there were for Obamacare. After all, who would want to be exempt from a dream program like that? And all of it would be administered by the government and funded by taxes on the wealthy.... (more)

Says he will build it with or without Congress
WASHINGTON TIMES — President Trump says he made his point – the U.S. needs a border wall, and he will build it with or without Congress. Rather than force another unpopular and economically harmful government shutdown, Mr. Trump sounds increasingly willing to accept the agreement in Congress that provides about $1.3 billion for border barriers. That's less than one-fourth of the $5.7 billion that he demanded initially for a wall.... (more)

NEWSMAX — President Donald Trump isn't showing his hand yet. But with little Washington appetite for another shutdown, he's expected to grudgingly accept an agreement that would keep the government open but provide just a fraction of the money he's been demanding for his Mexican border wall.... $1.375 billion for barriers after Pelosi promised 'nothing' for 'wall'
WORLDNETDAILY — Remember when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., sarcastically conceded she would allow $1 for border barriers in President Trump's national security funding plan? Then she reneged, promising "nothing." "We can go through the back and forth," she dictated. "No. How many more times can we say no? Nothing for the wall."... (more)

Jack Cashill calls ill-fated high-speed rail project 'a boondoggle from birth'
JACK CASHILL — The decision by new California Gov. Gavin Newsom to "scale back" the planned high speed rail from Los Angeles to San Francisco has not gotten nearly the attention -- or derision -- it deserves. In the revised plan, the train will only go from Bakersfield to Merced. To put this in context, it is as if the planners of a high speed rail from New York to Washington settled on a route from Newark to Camden.... (more)

Baby killer ran a 'hellhole of an abortion clinic'
JOHN FUND — Rarely has a new movie become available at a time when the news made its subject matter timelier and more appropriate. Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer is the true story of a doctor who went to prison for life in 2013 for stabbing several infants he had delivered alive inside his hellhole of an abortion clinic in Philadelphia. After being almost completely ignored by critics during its release last year, last week the movie went on sale in Walmart and on Amazon, where it is the No. 1 best-selling dramatic DVD. At the same time, infanticide became a key issue in major stories in Virginia and New York.... (more)
