JERRY NEWCOMBE — With another Thanksgiving upon us, it's good to consider what the Pilgrims endured and how they thanked God through it all. I just finished reading a phenomenal book on the group of dissident Christians who founded Plymouth in 1620. Historian Rod Gragg wrote The Pilgrim Chronicles: An Eyewitness history of the Pilgrims and the Founding of Plymouth Colony (Regnery History, 2014). I thought I knew a lot about the Pilgrims, but this book added greatly to my knowledge.... (more)

Yesterday, the Drudge Report featured a tweet promoting the link to an article about how Steve Bannon and Sean Hannity were allegedly having second thoughts about their support for Judge Roy Moore. Drudge tweeted a banner headline for the link, which bore a picture with the tagline "Bannon turns on Judge Whore."... (more)

ROBERT MEYER — I first heard of Judge Roy Moore around the turn of this century. His posting of the Ten Commandments plaque and the subsequent placement of a monument in an Alabama courthouse, at his own expense, made him a darling of the late, great preacher/evangelist, Dr. James D. Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy featured Moore's activities during segments of some of his weekly television programs. After his first ouster as Supreme Court Chief Justice in Alabama, I lost track of him for a while. But then I was surprised to discover he was once again reelected to the position by the people of his state.... (more)
