NORTHWEST FLORIDA DAILY NEWS — It was supposed to just be a quick trip to the beach, but the Saturday afternoon diversion to the water almost ended in unspeakable tragedy for Roberta Ursrey and her family. Ursrey and her husband, mother, nephews and sons were enjoying the sun and yellow-flag conditions near the M.B. Miller County Pier. Ursrey herself had just left the water, but when she turned around to look for her sons, she noticed they were much farther from shore than she remembered. MICHAEL BARONE — Some observations on what Matthew Continetti rightly calls Donald Trump's "remarkable" speech in Warsaw, Poland. (1) This was a speech filled with remarkably apt references to Polish history, a subject surely few people suspected the president came to office familiar with. There were multiple references to Pulaski and Kosciusko, the Poles who crossed the Atlantic to fight for American independence, and to the Miracle of Vistula in 1920, when the Polish army under General Pilsudski repelled a Soviet invasion.... WASHINGTON EXAMINER — New research via the National Center for Health Statistics shows the U.S. fertility rate is at a record low. With the exception of the over-30 crowd, fewer women across almost all age groups and ethnicities are having babies. While putting off having babies until later has been a growing trend for some time, women would do well, if it's at all possible, to have babies first and focus on their career either simultaneously, or later.... WES VERNON — News and entertainment media, to say nothing of the history books, have inundated Americans with their own political versions of our nation's founding and the political officials and other alert Americans who followed, including our 45 presidents (for whatever the proficiency of their efforts as "keepers of the flame" may have been). By no means, however, are those who made great strides in their contributions to the nation's direction confined to our elected or officially appointed public servants.
