A particular breed of madness has gripped some folks in the nation over the so-called “homosexual anthem,” YMCA. I’m hearing calls for the aged, long-off-the-charts singing group the Village People to be resurrected and booked at the upcoming Trump inauguration ceremony. I will avoid the ceremony if they are booked. This call for their resurrection is the result of the tune often being played to accompany the so-called “Trump dance.”
The song “YMCA” was made famous (or infamous, in my view) by the 70’s singing group the Village People. Some of the members were homosexuals and the tune pays homage to the activist homosexual lobby’s successful destruction of the YMCA housing facilities. I wrote an article back in 2020, during Trump’s bid for presidential re-election, regarding the song. I stressed my disgust at Trump and so-called conservatives among his followers for being so clueless about the intent of the song.
Trump even embraced the song back then, as would be expected of a New York cosmopolitan. He also embraces homosexual behavior. What does he care about the plight of the actual Young Men’s Christian Association?
For those Christians and conservatives out there who are not aware, YMCA stands for Young Men’s Christian Association. And it is not insignificant that the organized homosexual lobby targeted the organization.[1] That movement destroys everything it touches.
The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) started as many Christian organizations do, with the intent of godly service.
A bit of history:
In 1844, George Williams founded the organization. It was to provide a place for young men who migrated to the industrialized city of London, England, from rural areas, seeking jobs.
London, a place of turmoil and despair, offered a bleak landscape of tenement housing and dangerous influences. Williams, troubled by what he saw, joined with 11 friends to organize the first Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA)—a refuge of Bible study and prayer for young men seeking escape from life on the streets.
Years later, an American—retired Boston sea captain Thomas Valentine Sullivan—established a similar organization to provide a safe haven for sailors and merchant seamen. Inspired by the success of the English YMCA, Sullivan formed the first U.S. YMCA at the Old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1851.[2]
The housing component of the organization has been reduced to dens of sodomy by activist homosexuals throughout the country. No longer are men of any age safe when they seek refuge at YMCA facilities today. The lyrics to the hit song tell the disgusting story. It’s not an invitation to a “young man” to find a safe haven anymore, but rather a place for perversion to go unimpeded. That is disgustingly sad, given the history of this organization.
This bit of information might be helpful for those who are unaware—especially those who do not want to advance an obstructive agenda in this time when conservative thinkers are taking back our nation from harmful influences. Homosexual activism is no less harmful than transgenderism or any other assaults on the stability of our culture.
And finally, the Village People and their song, in recognition of their destruction of the Young Men’s Christian Association, are disturbing to me, personally, because a beloved uncle dedicated his life to the YMCA. His name graces one of the YMCA buildings in my hometown. The honor was in tribute to his contribution to the advancement of young men throughout the country.
I applaud the protectors of young men. I despise those who would harm them.
