Dear Friends and Patriots,
I've been watching the news today re: Venezuela. This operation is going to generate a lot of division in the country and the world. I'm a libertarian, so not entirely disposed to support such adventurism. But ... I do know that the Venezuela op has the mullahs in Iran nervously pacing the floors today. That's a good result.
Meanwhile the Chinese are thinking, "Screw Trump. We can take on the American military and demolish them." Put another way, "Kicking ass on a third world dictatorship don't impress us much. Hold my beer!"
Overall, I think this is going to be okay, but the spin may not all be positive. It will be proclaimed to be a Big Oil operation, where the U.S. military is doing the dirty work the corporations can't. President Trump is now "President Big Oil." So, it's yet another situation that has huge yin and yang components. It's not really possible to see any good in it without acknowledging the bad.
Decapitating a repressive regime may be good, but replacing it is always problematic. We tried in Iraq and failed. We then tried in Afghanistan and failed there, too. I'm thinking ahead to Iran, where the old Shah's son is being pushed as a viable ruler for that country's future – if the US and Israel can rid them of the mullahs. But, the Shah's son ... hasn't seen Iran since he was a kid. What does he know of governing? What's his political philosophy? If we push him forward, what will be his governing principles? Does anyone know?
Jimmy Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski are to blame for the past 46 years of mullah rule in Iran. Will undoing that be to the advantage of the Iranian people? I say, let them decide their own fate, without us.
The old Shah was considered to be a stooge of the CIA, which is largely true. He was put in power by a coup that was engineered in 1954 by the CIA, and they (the CIA) stayed around to help him create the Savak, one of the most dangerous and feared secret police organizations in the world.
If Trump is to succeed in Venezuela and later in Iran, he has to rein in the CIA, which is something no President has ever succeeded in. Our CIA is run by careerists and globalists. They answer to no one. They have the ability to self-finance, through their own criminal operations. If President Trump is to succeed in his overall agenda, he has to destroy that snake before it reaches out to destroy him.
In Liberty,
Steve
