"Peace, Peace, but there is no Peace"
By Victor Sharpe
Islam, which was described by no less than Winston Churchill as an ideology wrapped in a religion, will never allow its adherents to accept a non-Muslim state in land previously conquered in the name of Allah.
That applies to Israel and equally to European countries it once occupied in whole or in part – Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Sicily, the Balkans, and other lands in between.
As for Israel, can it be any clearer that the Palestinian Authority, which represents the allegedly moderate Fatah wing, does not want to live side by side in peace with Israel but wants only to live without an Israel?
Just read the horrific anti-Jewish poison daily spewed by what passes as its PA controlled media.
As for its more extreme wing, Hamas, its charter specifically calls for the slaughter of Jews worldwide and the extermination of the Jewish state.
Both Fatah and Hamas terrorists are routinely in the business of killing Jews. For Israel, it is like being asked by a murderer, "What method of violent death would you prefer?"
Israel has to accept the dismal fact that it will never have peaceful Muslim neighbors. On the other hand, Christian Israeli Arabs, who are the most truly protected of all Christian communities in the overwhelmingly Muslim Middle East, are expressing increasing loyalty to the Jewish state.
This, while thousands of Christians are slaughtered throughout the Middle East by Muslim fanatics.
But even with a Muslim Arab sword of Damocles hanging over it, Israel can survive and grow. Unfortunately, a long and depressing parade of left leaning and weak Israeli leaders and politicians have brought unnecessary disaster down upon the beleaguered state.
Prime Ministers Rabin, Peres, Barak, Sharon and Olmert all resisted the awful truth that even if Israel shrank to one downtown city block in Tel Aviv, the Arab and Muslim world would still not recognize a Jewish state or agree to live with it in peace and harmony.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is faced with the most anti-Israel incumbent in the White House ever: Barack Hussein Obama.
This is the same Obama who is enabling the Islamic Republic of Iran to create a caliphate and build the Bomb even as it gobbles up much of Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and empowers and finances Islamic terror worldwide.
This is the same Obama who is plotting to use the UN to divide Jerusalem; force Israel to withdraw to the 1949 suicidal armistice lines by accepting the mendacious Saudi "peace" plan; and who is determined to create a malignant Palestinian state that has never existed in all of human history.
True peace can never be achieved between Muslim and non-Muslim nations. Islam mandates the faithful to spread their religion through Sharia law and territorial conquest and, as in the case of Israel and other lands, by reclaiming what Muslims believe they have lost.
Remember, "Allahu Akbar" does NOT mean God is great; it means Allah is greater.
It is the Muslim supremacist war cry and serves notice that Islam is supreme over all other faiths. It believes itself to be the master religion, just as the German Nazis considered themselves to be the master race: The herrenvolk.
True, an armistice can be agreed upon when the Muslim entity feels itself too weak to prevail. But as soon as it feels strong enough, it is required to dishonor the treaty made with the infidel state and launch all-out war against it. It takes its precedent from Muhammad's betrayal of the Treaty of Hubadiyah.
That is why the Egyptians and Jordanians, who signed treaties with Israel, maintain merely a frigid "peace" with Israel to this day.
Even though the Land of Israel was given to the Jewish people in an eternal Covenant with the Almighty, it does not matter to Islam, for wherever the Muslim foot has once trod triumphant, that territory is forever regarded as Islamic: the Dar al-Islam.
If such territory is lost to Muslims, Allah has been diminished and the land must be retaken at all costs: It becomes the Dar al-Harb – the House of War. Peace, then, is merely a mirage in the desert sands.
World leaders still fail to understand the Muslim mindset. Some Israeli leaders, who of all people should know better, also fall into the fatal trap of believing the Western model of lasting peace between nation-states can equally apply in the Middle East between Muslim and non-Muslim nations. It is a fatal fallacy.
The conflict between Israel and the Muslim world in general, and between Israel and those Arabs who call themselves Palestinians in particular, is not territorial: It is theological. It is part of the existential conflict that has existed between Islam and the non-Muslim world since the 7th century.
Over the past sixty years the growing sublimation to liberalism by the West has created a frightening erosion of the Judeo-Christian ethos that framed the West's secular democracy.
In abandoning the Bible, the West has lost its moral and spiritual capital and is becoming a danger to itself, irrespective of resurgent Islam. This has also led to the abandonment of Israel by so many who have succumbed to the unholy trinity of political correctness, multiculturalism and diversity.
Much of the Islamic world now feels empowered, as perhaps never before, and seeks global domination with renewed and barbaric vigor. This – not so-called man made global warming – is the tangible and growing threat to the world.
Only when world leaders understand the nature of Islam's theological rejection of a genuine and irrevocable peace with Israel, and Israeli leaders realize the uselessness and betrayal of trading tangible and ancestral land for an intangible and delusional "peace," will a long and overdue realism finally enter the conflict.
What we have witnessed for so long are Israeli leaders making constant one-sided concessions to U.S. administrations, the State Department, the so-called Quartet, the European Union, the immoral quagmire that is the United Nations, and to the deceitful leader of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
Like his late mentor and predecessor, the arch-terrorist, Yasser Arafat, Abbas is interested only in taking whatever he can from the foolish Israelis and giving absolutely nothing in return except terror.
As a Muslim, he and all Muslims are not permitted within Islam to make peace with non-Muslims. Yet so many liberals – Jews and Christians alike – remain infuriatingly blind to these simple facts.
They prefer to sit down in so-called ecumenical confabs with assorted imams, feel good about themselves, while holding hands and singing kumbayah.
Michael Savage once coined the phrase: "Liberalism is a mental disorder." How true!
Israeli leaders must look to their own people's biblical history. They must see again the nature of their enemies as spelled out in crystal-clear clarity through the words of the biblical Jewish prophet, Jeremiah:
"They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious, saying, 'Peace, peace, but there is no peace.' We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble."
The premise of the failed Oslo accords was for Israelis to accept that their ancestral lands can be given away to implacable Muslim enemies in order to make those enemies peaceful and for Israel to accept whatever would be left of the Jewish state.
Well, it most certainly did not work in Gaza and it will most assuredly not work in biblical Judea and Samaria, or what the world prefers to call by its 19 year old Jordanian illegal occupation name: the West Bank.
Only tiny Israel is expected to take "risks for peace." Such risks would force Israel back to a state only nine miles wide at its most populous region, while its Muslim neighbors – especially a so-called Palestinian state – will lust to exterminate the vulnerable Jewish homeland at the first opportunity. That is what the "Two-State-Solution" means.
In reality it is a dire euphemism so eerily and horrifyingly similar in its ever ghastly significance to the German Nazi euphemism for the Holocaust: The Final Solution.
The Midrash (Commentaries on specific books of the Hebrew Bible) teaches that Israel is like a sheep among seventy wolves. Only the great Shepherd can protect it from all enemies.
Nevertheless, the Jewish people are instructed in the Torah (the first five books of the Bible) to do whatever they can to always defend themselves. Put more succinctly: God helps those who help themselves.
Netanyahu may yet be exalted among the leaders of the reconstituted Jewish state and confound Israel's many enemies, including the malevolent threats emanating from the Obama White House. We can but pray.
It was another biblical prophet, Joel, who reminded his fellow Jews that the Covenanted land, Israel, must never be given away:
"In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My inheritance, My people Israel, for they scattered My people among the nations and divided up My land."
Joel, speaking God's words, then proclaimed: "The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will tremble. But the Lord God will be a refuge for His people, a stronghold for the people of Israel."
