Feminist seeks knight. Must polish own armor

Where is my John Wayne? / Where is my prairie sun? / Where is my happy ending? / Where have all the cowboys gone? – "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" by Paula Cole
For decades we were told that men and women are "equal," and that equal means "same," and that same means "identical." Despite the scientific evidence that males and females are different in every cell of their bodies, the "experts" really did swear to be true what every toddler knows to be false.
Even in the fantasy world of leftism, this lie eventually crumbled under the weight of its own decomposing nonsense. Men are not defective women.
But rather than going back to appreciating the God-given differences between the sexes, feminists tried something else. If they couldn't turn men into women, perhaps they could keep boys from becoming men. Thus "pajama boy" of the Obamacare ads. The "metrosexual."
That isn't working, either.
Today the cry goes up from feminists (arrogantly as always speaking for "all women") for men to be kinder and gentler toward – excuse the biblical phrase – the weaker vessel. We have to teach young men to respect women, and not to rape and beat them.
You've come a long way, baby.
Conservatives laugh at the suggestion about teaching boys to be considerate toward women because it's so blooming obvious. And necessary. There was a time when Christian societies taught this very thing. It was called "chivalry." And it was one of the first things that feminists killed in their efforts to defy reality.
You can't teach a man to think and feel like a woman. I should say "most men" – some university profs excepted. You can't erase a man's competitive urges or make him enjoy salads and Susan Sarandon movies. But you can train a man to use his more aggressive nature to serve his family, his community and his country. You can appeal to the forgotten ideals of nobility, self-sacrifice and even glory. Yes, we solved this problem a thousand years ago. Progressives always take us back at least a millennium with their cutting-edge thinking.
But if we want to restore the notion of the "gentleman," we'll need a complementary transformation in women. We must hold up the old-fashioned ideal of the "lady." Her honor must be worth defending – which means that chastity must make a dramatic comeback. Slut-shaming and all.
Now, the knight who protects and provides for his lady, though he seeks her well-being and comfort above his own, is the undisputed leader of the family. There can be no more blather about co-CEOs in marriage.
There's more.
If we want men to strive to be noble, honorable, strong-yet-gentle warriors for the cause of Right, then we need husbands to be husbands and fathers to be fathers. That seems axiomatic. But it means that government must get out of the surrogate husband business and the faux father racket.
Where have all the cowboys gone, you ask? They rode off into the sunset, looking for women who would allow them to be men. Women who appreciate having someone strong and brave to rescue them. Probably women who shave their armpits.
The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands. (Proverbs 14:1, NAS95)
