They've won, if we let them get away with it
By Michael Oberndorf
It's been awhile since I wrote my last column, and guess what? Things have not gotten better. In fact, things in the former free, constitutional, democratic republic of the United States of America have never been worse. The unobstructed destruction of our majority religion, culture, traditions, moral values, military, and economy has escalated beyond anything anyone has ever seen – or could have imagined – in America. But the coup de grâce – the killing blow – which amounts to a coup d'état, was dealt to what was left of the two-party Congress by Harry Reid (D-NV), the Senate Majority Leader, with the blessing (Islamic, of course) of Barack Hussein Obama, aka Indonesian citizen, Barry Soetoro.
Reid, in office through the patriotic zeal of thousands of Mexican citizens in Nevada illegally, who risked their Mexican citizenship (though not much) to illegally vote in a foreign election, changed the Rules of the Senate that had been in place since the founding of the country, rules that, by the admission, in 2005, of then minority senators Obama, Biden, Clinton, Feinstein, Dodd, Schumer, Baucus, and Reid himself, if changed, would destroy the Senate (http://www.redstate.com/2013/11/21/senate-democrats-have-done-what-harry-reid-said-would-be-the-end-of-the-senate/?utm_source=morning%2Bbriefing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=11%2B22%2B2013).
I highly recommend that everyone read what they had to say. It is amazing how well they understand how our Constitution and government are supposed to be interpreted, when it is to their benefit. Amazing, too, how the rest of the time, the Constitution is seen as a "living document" written over 200 years ago by privileged, white, slave owners, and thus in need of radical change.
Rush Limbaugh, whom I don't always agree with, but whose political analysis is rarely off the mark, correctly predicted that the next step for the Democommies sharks, smelling blood in the water, would be to eliminate the filibuster altogether. In other words, with a 51 vote majority, they could pass any and every law they chose. The minority, though it might actually represent a majority of the people – Rhode Island and Delaware have the same number of senators as Texas and Oklahoma – would be SOL. There would be nothing the minority could do to stop them. And indeed, Rush nailed it.
Tom Harkin, the far-left, Democommie senator from Iowa, raised this possibility almost immediately: "This has been escalating for a long period of time and it was time to stop it and that's what we did this morning," Harkin said. "Now we need to take it a step farther and change the filibuster rules on legislation (http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/191086-harkin-calls-for-more-rule-changes)." And you can bet your bottom food stamp that they will do just that.
This will, as noted, amount to a coup d'état. Period. We, the People always thought that if we liked our Constitution and the style of government it prescribed, we could keep it. Anyone recall a concept that was, perhaps naïvely, called the Rule of Law? But as with Obamacare, our "leaders" were the victims of the Democommie equivalent of the "Knock-out Game (again)" and with a single sucker-punch to the heart of America, one-party rule will be imposed by the party of frauds and usurpers.
I don't like to say, "I told you so," but sometimes it's necessary. Throughout the past 5 years, I have warned that people needed to concentrate their elective efforts on getting genuine conservatives into the Senate, and wresting control of it from the Democommies. Few paid attention. "Oh, the Senate has no real power," these establishment savants intoned, and refused to back the conservatives. However, We, the People got Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Mike Lee (R-UT) elected, but the Rinos allowed superlative candidates like Josh Mandel, in vote-fraud riddled Ohio to be beaten by waste of food and air, Sherrod Brown (D-OH), by a mere 6 percent of the vote. They also allowed Reid to get away with massive fraud in Nevada, beating staunch conservative Sharon Angle, who was well ahead in every poll just before the election, but "somehow" lost by 5.6 percent of the vote. And much as we would all like to, who can forget the massive fraud that Al Franken (D-MN) used to usurp his seat in the Senate?
The fact of the matter, the much touted "bottom line," is that it seems highly unlikely that free, honest elections will be held nationally in America for a long, long time. The Injustice Department has been totally corrupted, so who will investigate the fraud and bring indictments? The courts are corrupted, too, overloaded with radical leftists, legislating from the bench, so who will convict the perps. Circular disaster for the Constitution, freedom, and America as we used to know it. Folks, Obamacare is just a beginning baby step towards the collectivist, totalitarian police state the Democommies "Vision for Change" has in store for us. Are We, the People, going to sit idly by while "government of the people, by the people, and for the people" vanishes from the Earth?
