Coming apart

Al Gore. Heesh...This guy is an object lesson in why it is not just stupid, but dangerous to vote for liberals, Democrats, and other leftist golems. In spite of a growing mountain of evidence that "global warming," aka "climate change," is nothing but a concoction of the globalist left, a fraud, perpetrated on the world to panic people into submitting to imposition of draconian neo-fascism in order to "save the planet," good ol' Al still hysterically insists it's real. Al, like his radical watermelon adherents (green on the outside, red on the inside), would have us all living in caves, going barefoot, as it were, so as not to leave a "carbon footprint," whatever the heck that is.
Al made some serious Big Cash from his fiction disaster movie, with dire predictions that if the earth were to warm, the health and welfare of humans, especially poor ones, would plummet, and the Earth would come to an end. Supported by authoritarian leftists and fascists of varying stripes, he ginned up enough fear to get himself a Nobel Peace Prize, in 2007. This is a prize that has become a bad joke, given its recipients over the past few years, but that is another story.
Sanity, however, seems to be returning. Although Al Bore...er...Gore seems determined to go down with it, lots of the other rats are abandoning the sinking ship. The latest is James Lovelock, a "futurist," meaning a person who makes bushels of Big Cash by scaring the public with dire predictions — sound familiar? — who is also the creator of the Gaia "theory" that the Earth is a single, living organism, i.e., Mother Earth, a notion many "environmentalists" have turned into a religious cult belief. Said Lovelock to the always unbiased MSNBC:
In the report (http://thegwpf.org/gwpf-reports.html), it's pointed out that global warming is not among the top threats to public health, and that poverty is a much greater threat than global warming. Moreover, present policies are increasing death and disease, a fact that does not bode well for proposed future ramping up of them. The report cautions that the current gross overstating of the impact of global warming on human health seriously risks tragic misdirection of the world's priorities and resources in combating poverty and improving public health.
"Climate policies that hinder or slow down economic development or increase the price of energy and food threaten to augment poverty and, as a result, increase net death and disease," says Dr. Goklany.
This is exactly what Obama-Soetoro and the EPA have been doing, and what they intend to keep doing unless, We, the People stop them. The disaster caused among the world's poor by the imposition of bio-fuel standards is well documented, with the grains depended on by poor people diverted into fuel production, causing food shortages and massive inflation in their price. In spite of this, and putting the lie to B. Hussein's claims to care about social justice, he and the EPA plan to demand that the ethanol (alcohol, distilled from corn) content of gasoline be increased from 10 to 15 percent.
Sanity also has made a rare, but most welcome appearance on Capitol Hill. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has introduced S. 299, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act. This bill would "require Congress to approve every new major rule proposed by the Executive Branch, which has an annual economic impact of $100 million or more, before it can be enforced on the American people (http://www.paul.senate.gov/?p=REINS_act)." A companion bill, introduced by Representative Geoff Davis (R-KY) has already passed in the House.
So, call your senators, even if they're greenies, and urge them to support S. 299, and as the global warming ship sinks into its sea of lies, lets definitely pray to God, but also row for shore.

The problem is we don't know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books — mine included — because it looked clear-cut, but it hasn't happened. The climate is doing its usual tricks. There's nothing much really happening yet. We were supposed to be halfway toward a frying world now.
