Daily Beast: 'Thousands may die' due to Republican 'spite' of Obama

Sally Kohn, a "progressive" homosexual activist and writer at the Daily Beast, makes some mighty tall claims in her column from Tuesday, "New Poll Shows Voters in Red States Want to Expand Medicaid." Citing several polls, including one from NPR and one commissioned by MoveOn from Public Policy, she claims that the popularity of Medicaid expansion in conservative states is now soaring.

The leftist polling also indicates that 75 percent of Americans nationwide support the expansion of Medicaid, and the claim is that the "overall" popularity of Obamacare is rising. But, Kohn insists that Republicans are desperate to create a negative view of Obamacare in the minds of the American people, mainly because they want to spite Obama and keep people from having health insurance coverage.

She writes:

Nevertheless, Republicans are actively, single-handedly blocking health coverage for 5 million Americans in 24 states. One academic study suggests that of those 5 million, 10,000 Americans will die this year alone due to lack of insurance. The Medicaid expansion is the law of the land, it's already paid for, and 5 million more Americans would be getting coverage if Republican politicians hadn't taken it away because of petty partisanship. Largely because Republicans want to spite President Obama on a key piece of his namesake, thousands of Americans may die.

She really said a mouthful there! Republicans are not blocking health insurance for anyone. The states that are resisting Medicaid expansion are doing so for a very good reason: they can't afford it. Democrats will counter that Obamacare has the federal government paying 100 percent of the states' Medicaid expansion through 2016 and no less than 90 percent thereafter, but there is no guarantee that this will remain the case and that states won't be left holding the empty money bag.

The ridiculous speculation that ten-thousand Americans may die because of lack of health insurance is typical leftist propaganda. And the Republican opposition to this unconstitutional bad law is "largely" due to their desire to spite Obama? And further, thousands may die because of that "spite"? These would be laughable claims if we were not in such a serious place today with this destructive law bearing down on our nation.

Kohn declares that "Medicaid expansion is the law of the land," yet it is part of the Obamacare legislation which Barack Obama, in transgressing the limits on his power, has unilaterally changed on numerous occasions. So, to which "law of the land" is Kohn referring?

The truth is that nothing has changed since this Obamacare sign-up deadline, on which we were expected to believe the Obama administration suddenly had all the numbers in, and they just happened to be the target goal for sign-ups. But just days before, they could not tell us with certainly much of anything about the sign-up numbers. We're also expected to believe that despite the plethora of polling for years that shows the overwhelming majority of Americans despise this bad law, now all of a sudden they have decided they like it. Yeah, sure.

Kohn wraps up her piece conceding that some projections show that Republicans "may" keep the House and take the Senate in November, yet she ends by saying that,

"... in terms of Obamacare, the landscape will just keep getting better for Democrats as petty, partisan Republican obstructionists continue to keep hurting themselves – and their poor constituents."

As millions of previously insured Americans continue to lose their health insurance because of Obamacare, and millions more lose theirs when the employer mandate kicks in, Kohn's claims are, at best, a grand case of wishful thinking. In reality, however, this is simply more of the same lying propaganda from an Obama-compliant media machine hell-bent on pushing the tyrannical, freedom-robbing agenda of the radical Left.
