WA Dems drop home invasion clause in gun control bill

An outrageous provision in an already outrageous piece of Democrat gun control legislation in Washington State has been scrapped. The now-"corrected" State Senate Bill 5737 had originally included a section that called for yearly home inspections by county sheriffs who would check to make sure your so-called "assault weapon" was stored "safely and securely," as if how you store your gun in your home is any of their stinkin' business.
A writer who appears to be sympathetic to what he calls "common-sense regulation of gun sales" reported on the now-dumped provision last Saturday in The Seattle Times:
Responding to the Newtown school massacre, the bill would ban the sale of semi-automatic weapons that use detachable ammunition magazines. Clips that contain more than 10 rounds would be illegal.
But then, with respect to the thousands of weapons like that already owned by Washington residents, the bill says this:
"In order to continue to possess an assault weapon that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person possessing shall ... safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection."
In other words, come into homes without a warrant to poke around. Failure to comply could get you up to a year in jail.
The columnist quotes two of the Democrat sponsors of the bill as saying they didn't realize this provision was in the bill. They said that it might be unconstitutional. Oh, you think?!
The Democrats in their drooling mania to grab our guns are increasingly showing their deranged, tyrannical desperation. So, now "common-sense" gun control legislation needs to include Gestapo home inspection? And the junior tyrant Democrats who proposed this trash just happened to not know this provision was in that short bill? Or is it more likely that they just happened to hope no one would notice it until the piece of garbage was passed into law?
Even though the unconstitutional provision has been dumped from the bill after massive public outrage, the rest of the unconstitutional "assault weapons" bill still remains. These Democrats in Washington State are still gunning to infringe on the state's residents' right to keep and bear arms.
It's really too bad that so many people have bought into the bogus term "assault weapon." First of all, there is no such weapon categorization. Second, it is against the law to assault another person. That's what makes this fictional term so disgusting. A semi-automatic handgun, shotgun or rifle in the hands – or at the bedside, or in the holster, or anywhere in the possession – of a law-abiding American citizen will never be an "assault weapon." The fact that the "mainstream" of America is sheepishly accepting this fraudulent term is yet another in the myriad examples of successful use of deceptive, devilish language manipulation by the bent minds of the communist Left.
The fight is underway, however, and we have more than half of the states under Republican leadership, and in some of those states, we're seeing legislation proposed that would stop the illegal, federal gun grabs attempts by the criminal fraud Barack Obama (or whatever his name is) and members of Congress. But in the Democrat-run states like Washington, Missouri and elsewhere, we're seeing the same gun-grabbing, commie garbage.
That's why this Saturday all across the nation, fed-up Americans are staging the Day of Resistance to tell the communist gun-grabbers in our leadership positions that we will not stand for it. You can check the Day of Resistance website to see if there is a rally in your area.
We must stand firmly against these lunatic commies who are desperate to disarm us. We know why they want to do it, and it has nothing to do with "public safety."
