Let me be Frank with you. And brief too. We need to reignite our afterburners and get our newly (re)elected President across the finish line with the team he needs. Support his nominations. He probably knows what he is doing. I’d bet on it.
You probably know as many folks as I do who have this or that to say about President Trump’s many nominations. And, believe me, there are some with something negative to say about every single one. “Blah, blah, blah…” My many “know it all” friends. You have them too. You probably have a thing or two to say about several of the picks too. I obviously do or I would not be taking the time to write this. I could be sitting under a palm tree somewhere having a delicious cup of expresso, maybe a bagel too. But I’m not, I’m here writing this plea to you all. Support Trump’s decisions. Give him the team he is selecting.
He is our new head coach, general manager, and knows who he wants on the field. Hey, read “Money Ball.” If you are not familiar with this story (a movie made about it too), it is the story behind the intuitive insight applied in building the 2002 winning Oakland A’s team. General Manager Billy Beane's methods flew in the face of all of the “experts” who created problems for him at every juncture.
“If he’s a good hitter, why doesn’t he hit good?” Best quote ever! It was all about individuals with the particular strengths… and weaknesses to distract opponents. And batting order.
I think, just perhaps, he knows what he is doing. I’d bet on it. Look at it this way: his nominations surely can’t be any worse than the members of the outgoing team. I mean Really! And, ask yourself this: “How many billions have I earned in my life?” Robert Kiyosaki (“Rich Dad, Poor Dad” author) asks us to consider one point. If you want to earn a million dollars, who would you ask for advice from? Your uncle who never did it or someone who has in fact succeeded at doing it? Who would have the best basis for their opinion? Surely someone with a working knowledge of the topic.
I believe President Trump knows what he is doing. Exactly what he is doing. He is, in a sense, participating in a very sophisticated chess match (Notice I did not use the term “chess game.”) There is positioning, maneuvering, setting up situations. Anticipating the opponent’s moves and positioning for any scenario. It is complex and… yes, it requires an element of keeping some parts of your plan to yourself.
So, let’s give the guy a chance. Call, write, contact your Representatives. Write letters to the editor, do whatever you can from atop of whatever soapbox or podium you have available. Give him the team he is asking for. He knows what he is doing.
