Some advice for Mr. Trump: more observations from where I see it
By Frank Louis
Hello Donald. First, let me congratulate you on your forthcoming victory. Now, on to the presidency. I hope to assist you from time to time with some details regarding your successful campaign.
My first suggestion is do not change a thing. Well maybe drop the "#%@% words" so my grandkids can attend your rallies, but otherwise keep on keeping on! And stay away from politicians. There are several "non politician" folks who might be good choices for your VP slot. Go there. Pick the dream team. Let's go!
But a point I want to make is regarding your choices of music and these rock groups telling you off. I mean, really Don: getting rebuked by the Rolling Stones... Neil Young? Mr. Trump, there are many musicians out there who share your /our vision and would love to have you use their music. Music your supporters like too! Use their music.
While I sometimes surely like to sit back and listen to "Down by the River" or "I can't get no, satisfaction...," I would never look to Neil Young or Mick Jagger for moral or political guidance. Get rid of these people. In fact, just do not even recognize they exist. Don't give these people an inroad into this important election. These musicians and musical groups would all love for people like your opponents; Hillary or Bernie... Elizabeth Warren, and... well the list goes on... to use their music... and win.
Don, we are in a different camp. Remember how foolish Gov. Christy looked when he got the shaft from Bruce Springsteen? Don't let this election become susceptible to these attacks. Stay away from the Kardashians too. They do not reflect a single thing I/we stand for. The dumb folks who look to these entertainers for guidance may actually be a lost tribe. Do not give them an entry into this campaign.
Aren't we all tired of hearing things like "You didn't build that" from people who ever built anything? Really!
In pondering today's discombobulated national and global environment, I couldn't help but notice Joshua 24: 13 in which God tells the Jews: "And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and olive-yards which ye planted not do ye eat." Sounds a bit like He is addressing those "you didn't build that" folks... who never built a thing... to me. We have inherited a great nation. Let's not let it go to hell in a hand-basket.
Building on that thought, Joshua 24:20 continues "If ye forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good." When I look at this whole global climate change push, transgenderism, etc, the words "strange gods" jump out to me. How about you?
The Bible often addresses these modern day issues, sometimes indirectly, however, as scripture states: "How soiled we are as a nation." Really, how soiled are we becoming? Unfortunately, most of those in the pulpits and lecterns often miss this connection to our current day world. I hope they wake up soon.
Federal Reserve official William Dudley recently said America is no longer the top country for achieving the American Dream in. "Effectively the chance of achieving the American Dream is not the highest for children born in America." What are we letting our nation become? Sounds like nobody is building anything anymore. Oh well.
Have you seen these video clips of politicians in Turkey (and other Muslim countries) jumping over tables and chairs, gouging each other's eyes out, slugging each other? And the political opposition (the ones now in control) here wants hundreds of thousands of these people (and their behavior) moving here... on the dole too? I don't think so!
Police arrested more than 400 protesters outside the U.S. Capitol recently from Democracy Spring, an organization, we are told, seeking to remove big money from politics and combat restrictive voter identification laws: "to demand Congress take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in our politics and ensure free and fair elections," I was looking through some of my past articles. In 2013 I wrote an article that reminded people that they had 18 months to get a photo ID... 18 months folks. With no ID how can any election be fair?
Get to work folks... Get to work.
